Excellent way to see a bit more of the country - We highly recommend this trip when you don't have much time, but still want to see a bit more of the country outside of Baku. It involves a lot of driving, but it's a varied programme and you get to see some lovely sights. Communication via Whatsapp was very smooth with Travelway, as well as with our driver/guide Anar, who was excellent.

An unforgettable experience - We had a fantastic trip! Our guide Vahid was incredibly attentive and patiently answered the thousands of questions we had. He went out of his way to show us hidden gems and really made us understand Azerbaijan much better. Thank you very much, we will never forget this trip!

Memorable Trip to Sheki - One of the best trips that we have ever had in our life. Our guide, Rustam was one of the best that we ever had. He was humble, knowledgeable and engaging throughout the trip. Because of him, we not only covered the locations mentioned in the itinerary, but also got an opportunity to interact with local people, cuisines, art and culture. We wish the very best to him and to you for making our trip a memorable one.

Scenic Journey Across Azerbaijan - I enjoyed this tour so much! Vahid was a great guide and was very knowledgeable about everywhere that we went. I loved that there were so many places included in the itinerary all along the way to Sheki. Also the hotel in Sheki was very nice and was located with beautiful scenery all around. Definitely a highlight during my vacation!

Too little for too much. - It was extremely difficult to connect with our guide, even though the fee of U.S. $240.00 for one had already appeared in my credit card statement. No contact until the morning the man appeared. We were perplexed, the same tours were advertised at the hotel at half price. I appoligized to my friends for booking Viatour. We spent the day driving and driving and driving. The tour did not include lunch which I thought it did so again, I offered to buy lunch for my 2 friends. The stop was not clean with little to offer. I would never take a friend there. If an appropriate place is not available, I would buy lunchboxes for my clients (I'm a guide) or suggest that they prepare some food. It was a Friday and the mosque we were to visit was closed. We went to see caves where monks sat in meditation. The climb up was too difficult for one friend. I wish I had known that beforehand. Next stop was to an old cemetery but there was no explanation as to why this was worth seeing other than it was old. The next stop was at a lake? pond? Nothing to see here and it was getting dark. We experienced another forgettable meal and arrived around 11 pm at our hotel!!! If we had arrived at Gabala during daylight, we could have enjoyed wandering the streets and enjoying the mountain scenery. We were ready to leave the next morning but the Karacavanserai was not open until 11 am. What kind of planning went into this? We waited and walked a bit, saw the Karavanserai and then the guided mentioned an Albanian church and village in Kish. The was very interesting. Of course we enjoyed this medieval sight. We had a late lunch and started back. May I suggest that your driver have some knowledge of the sites shown. We tried to explain that we wanted to see a World Heritage Site. This was an unknown word for him. Both my Swiss and Bulgarian friends know this word. Our guide did not. Never mind going to the mosque or little pond/lake. On the first day, drive to show the countryside and arrive in daylight to Gabala to see the village, have an authentic meal at a Good restaurant.

Nothing out of the ordinary - My partner and I had high hopes from this tour package, but tbh, we felt we could have done better booking locally. The package is much higher in terms of price, albeit it covers a lot of places in 2 days. Our tour guide was a nice local man named Senan, but honestly, he didn’t really do much of guiding. He was more of a driver than anything else, and we wished he would tell us at least a little about the places we were seeing. The hotel they had us stay at, at Sheki, was a nice one, but we didn’t get much time there to look around. I don’t think I’d recommend this package unless you don’t want a guide and just need someone to drive you to these places.

A guided tour supposed to be fruitful - I gave 2 reviews as the driver, Rustam, as he drove safely and he made sure that I was okay here and there even tho he was super busy with his phone calls. He also treated me for Azerbaijan tea and taught me how locals enjoy it. 1. The tour listed that I will get a tour guide, then the company assigned a tour guide, but the minute I met the guide, he told me that he is actually a driver not a tour guide. Throughout the journey he tried his best to give me information, but that's not the service u expected from paying this much money. He reads the information on the spot or even asked me to read from wikipedia. As comparison, I use other tour agency for a day trip only but I got a lot of information there. Even for Sheki Khans Palace, I have to hire a tour guide even tho I went there with "a tour guide". In a nutshell, the attitude he possesed was a local driver, not a tour guide. 2. The tour listed lunch as excluded, I thought it was only for the bill, but no...the lunch itself was excluded from the itinerary for two days in a row. That shows that the company doesn't really care for the guest as a person. My driver and I were starving. In fact, my driver was being grateful when I asked him to join me for dinner because he already prepared to starve till back to Baku. 3. The company didn't give out the scheduled timeframe to the driver, only a list of places as the driver shown me the text from the company in Whatsapp chat. This causing us fail to visit the Albanian Church at Gabala (replacement for Church of Kish) on time. We arrived there but it's closed. Also, the tour listed 7 tombs and Diri Baba Mausoleum but we didn't visit those 2 places. 4. Usually companies they have business account or at least more specific profile, but the company reached out to me in a personal account without any kind of identification in his profile. He uses Azerbaijan flag as profile picture, and re-write the number for the profile name. Looks suspicious, thankfully the driver is using his own profile picture with his fullname attached on his profile, and nice as a person. 5. Things I mentioned above is aimed for the company, for the thing that can be improved from the driver: please don't forget a customer is a customer, we pay for the tour service. Keep improving yourself👍
