A Wonderful Day - The tour was fantastic. Our tour guide Balazs was very knowledgeable about the area and points of interest along the trip. The lake and surrounding towns were stunning and we stopped in several places to enjoy the lake front area. We had a fantastic lunch at a restaurant along the lake with majestic views. Balazs was friendly and fun to spend the day with. We would never have had this experience on our own.

Private tour to Lake Balaton - Atilla our tour guide and the owner of the business personalised the tour according to our needs. He spoke English well and is well informed about the history and landscape of Budapest and Lake Balaton and the surrounding villages. We had a wonderful day, saw Lake Balaton and its surrounding beauty and had a delicious lunch overlooking the lake. Engaging conversation with many laughs! Highly recommended and will definitely explore further using his services when next in Budapest!

Well worth it! - Although it was a long day, our guide/driver was super and stopped for coffee and cake at a wonderful coffee shop on the way to the lake. Lake Balaton was quite beautiful and a suggestion would be to take some towels and bathing suits so that you can swim. We didn't but should have. Our guide also took us to "The Echo" restaurant which was stunning with good food. A very enjoyable experience.

A nice and relaxing tour with an expert guide! - Our guide/driver Balázs was wonderful! He took us in his Lincoln through the Hungarian lovely countryside. The lake large and has many villages and towns on its shores. The tour allows you to visit about one third of the lake. You can do some water activities. The Tihany abbey was great. It houses the grave of King Andrew, the only Hungarian King’s grave still exists. The abbey also houses a nice museum too. I enjoyed the rich conversations we had with Balázs. Two days later we took another half tour with Balázs to the Danube bend which was also very lovely. Both tours are highly recommended!

An excellent tour and a great guide/driver - In 2006 I had gone to Lake Balaton with my father and I remembered how beautiful it was. This year I was taking my two adult sons on their first visit to Hungary, and I wanted them to experience Lake Balaton. It was a great tour. Our driver/guide Balazs picked us up in a classic Lincoln Town Car. He answered all our questions but also added context by bringing in personal experiences, current events, and things like that. He had an excellent knowledge of Hungarian history, particularly from the old Soviet era to the present day. We had very pleasant stops for refreshments and lunch. Balazs took us to all the scheduled locations (and gave us detailed information about each one), but also took us, for example, to a spot that would give us a superb view of the lake. This was a totally enjoyable experience. You won't be disappointed by this tour, or by Balazs.

Relaxing Day - Unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate, which put a damper on the trip. However, our tour guide, Attila, saved the day. He was fun, knowledgeable, and made us laugh. I would highly recommend Attila.

A beautiful lake but things to remember.... - Lake Balaton is a picturesque beautiful lake. It is mostly visited by families over weekends. Luckily we went on a sunday when the weather was really good and locals were sailing their boats which was very nice peaceful and serene. However I felt that the tour price was a little high.It will be better to hire your own car, drive and go, as there is no need for a guide in that tour. Though it is a beautiful lake, i would not recommend you to do a guided tour. Mr. Atilla takes you to a hill top restaurant for lunch where the view is breathtaking, but he has to understand when to give space to others. He sat with us for lunch and our personal time and space got ruined, because of which we could not enjoy the view. He got us rubix and was expecting us to play whereas the only thing we wanted was to enjoy the beauty of the lake. What was extremely shocking for us was that despite knowing we are vegetarians he ordered pork without asking us, and he ordered extra food, which he packed in front of us to take home for dinner. He did not have the courtesy to even offer to pay for his food. Another thing that pissed us off was that he started justifying a review which was related to someone's sex life not thinking about their privacy at all. For a tour guide who meets people from all over the world with diverse cultures, he should know what to say and when to leave tourists alone. My walk in the village would have been better had he not been around, as his presence did not really add to my knowledge about the village. To sum up the guide seemed to be a nice person and a great driver but i feel that he should give individuals their space when need be. Recommending people to take this tour by themselves.
