- 59XR+Q8 Bald Sayt - Plunge into Oman’s mesmerizing Snake Canyon for adventures amid crystal-clear pools and stunning canyon walls. During the adventure tour you’ll be jumping into water pools, hike across boulders, cross caves and do some abseiling (max. about 25 meters).
Within the Jebel Shams region, this Snake Canyon route is for the adventurous explorers. It’s about 6km and takes around 5-6 hours. Within this route, abseiling of about 25 meters is required. Transportation to the canyon can be arranged upfront for an additional fee. See the different tour options.
For pictures, please bring a waterproof camera or a waterproof bag for your phone. Our advice is also to wear a sports outfit and water shoes (not mandatory).

Are you ready for a fantastic canyon adventure in Oman?
During this tour you’ll be plunging into the incredible Snake Canyon, where you’ll be hiking next to stunning canyon walls, swimming and jumping into crystal-clear pools and even do some abseiling (about 25 meters).
The route is about 6km and will take around 5 hours. You’ll be going into the canyon with certified and English speaking guides. We know every inch of the canyon since we grew up in the area and have been guiding adventurous souls since 2009. We’ll also make sure to bring snacks and water to keep the energy levels high. You can select our pick up service when needed, see the different tour options. We can pick you up from any location within Oman.

Don’t miss out! - Don’t miss out! It was absolutely incredible. You will hike, scramble, jump, rappel, dive and swim. You need to be in descent shape and up for an adventure. Wear clothes that can get wet and shoes that are sneakers or water shoes. They will serve lunch at the end and go for a small hike around the gardens of the village. It was such an incredible experience.

Great experience! Would love to do it again. - Great experience! Loved every bit of it. Magdi was very helpful and great company! Highly recommended! This activity is not for those who get scared of heights.. once you started, there is no going back. Involves abseiling and swimming on to cold water. Amazing memories will be kept!

Perfect day with Hike + Snake Canyon - I did a custom tour with Abdul and Hamid from Oman Escapes, which was a combination of a hike down to Bald Sayt (11km, 1,000m descent) and the famous Snake Canyon / Gorge (4-6km).
The team took care of me for the entire day, including providing snacks along the route and a full on (vegetarian!) dinner after this challenge.
Both Abdul and Hamid were super friendly and always up for a chat, clearly knew what they were doing, and made sure I was safe at all times.
Communication before the tour / during the booking process was always clear and prompt, including on what to bring, costs, and an honest indication of how challenging the tour would be.
Can definitely recommend discovering Oman's landscapes with Oman Escapes, and will be in touch when I visit next!

Unparalleled Experience - When I booked this private tour as a solo traveler, I didn't expect to have such a fantastic time. Despite the intensity, it should be a doable experience for most people. Abdul is truly exceptional guide and goes above and beyond to ensure his clients have a safe and fun experience. His extensive knowledge of the mountains and the canyon is unparalleled and I will forever be grateful for this unforgettable adventure. Incredible Snake Canyon Adventure - The Snake Canyon adventure with Abdul (and his younger brother) from Oman Escapes was the most memorable experience of our trip to Oman. The canyon itself is so beautiful; a deep sided canyon with incredible rock formations and clear blue water at the bottom. We loved the whole experience, from making the very first jump (after some encouragement!) to abseiling and swimming through the wadi. We felt expertly guided by Abdul who gave clear instruction, reassurance and encouragement whenever needed. It provided just the right amount of challenge and a great sense of adventure and achievement in a unique landscape. Later Abdul took us to his home in the mountain village for a meal and gave us a tour of the area. The memories of Snake Canyon will stay with us for a long time to come. Thank you!

Sanke Canyon - must do it!!! - My amazing canyoning trip with Oman Escapes was incredibly exhilarating. Excellent Abdul and his friend guides made sure that everyone was safe. They also gave a lot of mental support before the jumps and helped on the slippery stones. The Snake Canyon journey is simply incredible, and I heartily suggest it to anyone looking to unplug, refuel, and just let go. We thank the Oman Escapes crew for the fantastic day. I highly recommend the Oman Escapes crew! They genuinely are experts in what they do, ( they know the place by heart as they are born and live there. They made the entire tour an incredible experience while still making me feel protected. Don't think, book them and do it.

An Epic Canyoning Adventure with Oman Escapes - The unforgettable canyoning adventure I experienced with Oman Escapes was absolutely thrilling and helped me overcome my fear of heights! The rush of descending into narrow canyons, navigating through rugged terrain, and rappelling down waterfalls was a heart-pounding experience that pushed me out of my comfort zone in the best way ever. All of this wouldn't have been possible without the excellent guidance of Abdul. He gave clear instructions, ensured everyone's safety, and provided a lot of moral support before jumps. The incredible day ended with a savory lunch overlooking the gorgeous town of Bilad Sayt. The snake canyon adventure is nothing short of amazing, and I highly recommend it to anyone wishing to disconnect, recharge, and simply break-free.
