Highlights
  • The Dark Hedges - Our final stop before heading back to Belfast is The Dark Hedges, a renowned Game of Thrones filming location where ‘The King’s Road’ was set. These trees, planted in 1775, were designed to create a dramatic entrance to the Gracehill House Estate.

Legend has it that the ghost of the Grey Lady haunts these trees, moving from one to another. She is said to be the spirit of James Stuart’s daughter or a maid from Gracehill House. This site is quickly becoming a heritage landmark in Northern Ireland and is a fantastic spot for both Game of Thrones fans and regular tourists!

  • Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge - Established in 1755, the Carrick-A-Rede rope bridge is nearly 265 years old! Originally, it had just one handrail and sporadic wooden slats, making it quite unsafe and thrilling for those daring enough to cross. The bridge has since been upgraded for safety while maintaining its adventurous appeal. Located along the North Antrim Coast, the bridge spans about 100 feet above the Atlantic Ocean.

The crossing is often seen as daring and ideal for thrill-seekers due to the bridge’s tendency to sway in the wind and the significant drop below. This is a great stop and a highlight of the North Antrim Coast on our Giants Causeway Tour.

Please Note - The Carrick-A-Rede Rope Bridge has reopened and now requires time-slot bookings. We will assist you with booking your crossing time after you book your tour.

  • Ballintoy Harbour - Known to Game of Thrones fans as the ‘Iron Islands,’ Ballintoy Harbour is a stunning location along the North Antrim Coast that attracts thousands of tourists each year. We will make a brief stop here for you to explore, take a walk, and snap some photos. It’s a truly remarkable harbor that you must experience for yourself.

  • Giant’s Causeway - The Giant’s Causeway is the main attraction of the North Antrim Coast and one of the most impressive sights in all of Ireland. Your guide will share plenty of Irish myths during your visit. Seeing the Giant’s Causeway is breathtaking, but experiencing it with the legend of a giant building it adds another layer of wonder. The hexagonal rock formations include features like ‘The Wishing Chair,’ ‘The Camel,’ ‘The Giant’s Foot,’ and the Cliff-Top Path, all of which you will see during your visit! Admission to the Giant’s Causeway is free, though there are shuttle buses available for £1 to transport you from the car park to the Causeway. Alternatively, you can walk the route at no cost.

Admission to the Giant’s Causeway is free, but there is a separate fee for entry to the visitor center.

  • Dunluce Castle - Dunluce Castle is a medieval ruin that has been preserved to showcase the history of the North Coast and the territorial wars of the 15th and 16th centuries. The castle dates back to the 13th century, making it nearly 800 years old! Its preservation allows visitors to experience and appreciate its historical significance. We will stop here for a walk around the castle grounds, which offer fantastic photo opportunities.

  • Magheracross Viewing Point - This magnificent viewpoint is located near Dunluce Castle. We will make a brief stop to take in the stunning views of the North Antrim Coast. From here, you can see the coastline stretching to Portstewart/Portrush in one direction and back towards Dunluce Castle in the other. This newly developed location has been added to our tour for Summer 2022 and beyond to enhance your experience.

  • Bushmills Distillery - Tasting only for cruise ship tourists due to the duration of the tour

Join a Bushmills whiskey educator to learn about the craft of whiskey-making at the distillery. You’ll walk through the history of Bushmills’ grain-to-glass process, experiencing the sights and scents of each stage from mash tun to pot still to barrel. The tour concludes in the 1608 bar, where you can taste the result of over 400 years of expertise and innovation. This tour lasts approximately 90 minutes.

Cheeky good times… - By far our most colorful guide, we got a fun and cheeky tour of the sites and a very comfortable ride. Super informative and a fantastic lunch spot to boost. I almost gave it a 4 star - due to rough language from the guide. None of us minded, but if my mother was there she would have been mortified. Heh. For us it was honest and raw and we enjoyed the tours, insights from the guide and the colorful language.

Amazing tour with Chris - We had a terrific day with Chris as our guide on this amazing adventure! A prompt hotel pickup and on to The Dark Hedges, Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge, Ballintoy Harbour, Giant’s Causeway, Dunluce Castle, Magheracross and Old Bushmills Distillery…wow, what spectacular sights! Chris was so knowledgeable, obviously doing his research to ensure an in-depth understanding of all sites visited. We highly recommend this tour and our 5-star guide. One recommendation: Chris could use a mini-mic during the drive portion of the tour as at times road noise made it a bit difficult to hear his narrative - he has such wonderful information and interesting stories to impart, you don’t want to miss a word!

Wow. Just Wow. Best day so far. - Wow. This private tour was amazing. Chris, our driver, was so much fun and knowledgeable of Northern Ireland. He escorted our group and should us sites we did not think to see. The countryside drive, the rope bridge ( ok we chose not to walk across it but the place was beautiful) the Giant Causeway was breathtaking, lunch was VIP treatment, and we had time to quickly visit the Titanic museum Our driver, by end of day, was more like a family friend. Chris was great.

Amazing Tour - Chris was an amazing and knowledgeable guide with a great sense of humor. He got us to all the major sites before all the large tour groups showed up. His Mercedes was very clean, and he had some great local snacks. All of his recommendations were spot on, and we had a great day. Absolutely, without hesitation, I would use him again. Thanks for a great time, Chris!

Giant Causeway & Coastal Tour - We had a great day in Northern Ireland exploring the countryside with George. This tour was exactly what I was looking. We got out into the beautiful countryside and were able to see so much including the Giant Causeway, walked the rope bridge at Carrick a Rede, saw the Dark Hedges, castles and more. George found us a great lunch spot and despite one little down pour, it was an amayzing day. Thank you and I highly recommend.

Wonderful day in Northern Ireland - We spend a marvelous day with Paul exploring Northern Ireland. He was friendly and funny and kept us engaged all day with personal stories and history of the area. Despite some rough weather, we saw everything we had hoped to see as well as some special off-the-beaten-path locations. Paul got us to the rope bridge before the weather closed it down and we had a beautiful day exploring the stunning Northern Irish coast. He was very patient with us and gave us plenty of time at each stop. He even brought us for a quick unscheduled stop for a picture at the Titanic museum on the way back to our port when he heard that I was a fan. Can't recommend this tour enough!
