Highlights
  • The Dark Hedges - Our final stop before heading back to Belfast is The Dark Hedges, a renowned Game of Thrones filming location where ‘The King’s Road’ was set. These trees, planted in 1775, were designed to create a dramatic entrance to the Gracehill House Estate.

Legend has it that the ghost of the Grey Lady haunts these trees, moving from one to another. She is said to be the spirit of James Stuart’s daughter or a maid from Gracehill House. This site is quickly becoming a heritage landmark in Northern Ireland and is a fantastic spot for both Game of Thrones fans and regular tourists!

  • Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge - Established in 1755, the Carrick-A-Rede rope bridge is nearly 265 years old! Originally, it had just one handrail and sporadic wooden slats, making it quite unsafe and thrilling for those daring enough to cross. The bridge has since been upgraded for safety while maintaining its adventurous appeal. Located along the North Antrim Coast, the bridge spans about 100 feet above the Atlantic Ocean.

The crossing is often seen as daring and ideal for thrill-seekers due to the bridge’s tendency to sway in the wind and the significant drop below. This is a great stop and a highlight of the North Antrim Coast on our Giants Causeway Tour.

Please Note - The Carrick-A-Rede Rope Bridge has reopened and now requires time-slot bookings. We will assist you with booking your crossing time after you book your tour.

  • Ballintoy Harbour - Known to Game of Thrones fans as the ‘Iron Islands,’ Ballintoy Harbour is a stunning location along the North Antrim Coast that attracts thousands of tourists each year. We will make a brief stop here for you to explore, take a walk, and snap some photos. It’s a truly remarkable harbor that you must experience for yourself.

  • Giant’s Causeway - The Giant’s Causeway is the main attraction of the North Antrim Coast and one of the most impressive sights in all of Ireland. Your guide will share plenty of Irish myths during your visit. Seeing the Giant’s Causeway is breathtaking, but experiencing it with the legend of a giant building it adds another layer of wonder. The hexagonal rock formations include features like ‘The Wishing Chair,’ ‘The Camel,’ ‘The Giant’s Foot,’ and the Cliff-Top Path, all of which you will see during your visit! Admission to the Giant’s Causeway is free, though there are shuttle buses available for £1 to transport you from the car park to the Causeway. Alternatively, you can walk the route at no cost.

Admission to the Giant’s Causeway is free, but there is a separate fee for entry to the visitor center.

  • Dunluce Castle - Dunluce Castle is a medieval ruin that has been preserved to showcase the history of the North Coast and the territorial wars of the 15th and 16th centuries. The castle dates back to the 13th century, making it nearly 800 years old! Its preservation allows visitors to experience and appreciate its historical significance. We will stop here for a walk around the castle grounds, which offer fantastic photo opportunities.

  • Magheracross Viewing Point - This magnificent viewpoint is located near Dunluce Castle. We will make a brief stop to take in the stunning views of the North Antrim Coast. From here, you can see the coastline stretching to Portstewart/Portrush in one direction and back towards Dunluce Castle in the other. This newly developed location has been added to our tour for Summer 2022 and beyond to enhance your experience.

  • Bushmills Distillery - Tasting only for cruise ship tourists due to the duration of the tour

Join a Bushmills whiskey educator to learn about the craft of whiskey-making at the distillery. You’ll walk through the history of Bushmills’ grain-to-glass process, experiencing the sights and scents of each stage from mash tun to pot still to barrel. The tour concludes in the 1608 bar, where you can taste the result of over 400 years of expertise and innovation. This tour lasts approximately 90 minutes.

Best Day with Paul! :) - Easy to book & super responsive. Our driver Paul was the absolute best...hilarious, unfiltered, knowledgeable, great driver, told us so many stories and kept us entertained on the long day of driving, made sure to give us the tips at each stop and surprised us both with a little snack and an extra special surprise at the end. We had the best day, thanks Paul!

The struggle(s) is real! - Paul is WONDERFUL! He makes you feel the love he has for his home. He ensures your trip is personable and caters to your wants as well. He has a contagious energy and passion for his country which makes it so exciting to explore the country with him. He is very knowledgeable and brings the history to life in his stories. He also loves to take you to places that are off the beaten path so you can see something different from all the other tourists! His personal history and stories he can share with “The Struggles” is enlightening and entertaining (if it’s ok to say that) and sad and powerful and all the things. He is a passionate guy who made our time in Ireland so much more meaningful! Highly recommend!!

Private tour to the Irelands North coast with Paul - I booked a private tour for myself and a friend theory viator to see the Giants causeway. To our delight we had Paul as a driver- your day will be full of laughter, stories and history with Paul! He was a huge part of our enjoyable successful day along with the gorgeous coast, beautiful sunshine and history of Belfast. It was truly a perfect day and I'm so glad we had Paul and a private tour to learn. We had almost no crowds with no waiting for anyone at dark hedges, Carrik-a-dee bridge and giants causeway. Thanks again Paul , you were memorable and so was our day, we really loved Northern Ireland ☺️

Best Day Ever - Paul was everything a guide could be and then some. We engaged in conversation the whole time we were driving and he took us to everything in the itinerary and even took us to some other local spots. Suggested we have lunch at The Bushmill Inn which did not disappoint. Even provided us some local activities to fit in for the remainder of our stay in Belfast. Also the weather wouldn’t allow us to complete the Carrick-a-Rede but we walked the path anyway and it was unbelievable. The coast was also magnificent as we saw some beautiful waves crashing in- happy we didn’t cancel due to weather. It was a great day and never felt rushed. Thanks Paul you were great and wish you many special tours like the one you provided to us!

Highly Recommended - Paul was great. Shared lots of tips. We had typical weather so was not a sunny clear day but made the best of it. Make sure you come dressed right and wear the right shoes. Wet shoes all day would be a drag. I highly recommend booking.

Beautiful views only - The trip is well worth it for the views, but there is nothing included. You are paying for a driver only, no water or snacks or explanation of the sites. If you can find a private driver for cheaper, it would be the same, but the sites are amazing!
