Bandipur National Park and Tiger Reserve - The journey from Bangalore to the Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve takes approximately 5 hours. Departure is scheduled for 7:30 AM to ensure timely arrival for check-in and lunch at the accommodation. The drive is scenic, passing through lush countryside and quaint villages, offering a delightful view of the region’s vegetation, culture, and local lifestyle.
Bandipur National Park and Tiger Reserve - At 3:30 PM, a three-hour jungle safari begins.
The UNESCO Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve is one of India’s largest protected forests. This area is home to the world’s largest population of Asiatic elephants and the country’s second-largest tiger population.
Unlike the open grasslands of the African savannah, Indian jungles are densely wooded with tall trees, grasses, and lower-lying vegetation. Wildlife can be incredibly close—sometimes just 50 feet away—but may remain unseen unless pointed out by a trained naturalist.
To enhance the experience, safaris are conducted in smaller jeeps rather than buses, allowing for a more intimate exploration of the wilderness. In Bandipur, look out for leopards, dholes (wild dogs), elephants, tigers, gaurs (Indian bison), bears, sambar deer, various antelopes, and a wide variety of birds.

With insights from an expert guide, learn about the Wodeyar rulers and their significant contributions to putting this region on the global map as you leisurely explore the interiors and exteriors of this dazzling palace.
Devaraja Market - Take a stroll inside an 1880s market that seems frozen in time. As you walk back in time, marvel at the sights, smells, and sounds of the shops and people in the bazaar selling the finest fruits, flowers, vegetables, bangles, and local produce such as jaggery, attar, masalas, etc.
