Highlights
  • Banff - Banff is Canada’s first National Park, symbolized by the iconic Banff Springs Hotel, built in 1888, and is the oldest building in Alberta! After exploring the hotel, marvel at the waterfall below.

The viewpoints from Tunnel Mountain are grand and second to none! You will feel a renewed sense of wonder, guaranteed.

We will visit lesser-known but equally majestic spots. Blue glacial lakes, breathtaking views, and the powerful allure of ancient mountains await. Hikes, waterfalls, legends, indigenous history, and wildlife are just a few of the amazing experiences you will have!

Banff has a long history as a sacred gathering place for ceremonies, trade, sharing, visions, and celebrations. The Banff area, known as “Minhrpa” (translated in Stoney Nakoda as “the waterfalls”), is part of the Treaty 7 territory Îyârhe Nakoda (Stoney Nakoda), comprised of the Bearspaw, Chiniki, and Goodstoney First Nations, Tsuut’ina First Nation, and Blackfoot Confederacy.

  • Lake Louise - Inspiring views. In the warmer months, the area transforms into a paradise for hiking, mountain biking, and leisurely strolls around the turquoise waters of Lake Louise. Whether you’re here to embrace the thrill of outdoor adventures or to simply bask in the tranquility of the landscape, Lake Louise offers an array of experiences that cater to all tastes and interests.
Reconnect with nature and loved ones in a setting that encourages both adventure and relaxation. Lake Louise Inn is your gateway to experiencing the unparalleled beauty of the Canadian Rockies, no matter the season.
  • Banff National Park - The beauty of Banff National Park is that breathtaking mountain scenery is always within reach, often just a short hike away. However, for those willing to put in a bit more effort, the best viewpoints are truly rewarding.

If you’re a hiking enthusiast, you’ll find several stunning spots that require a little more dedication. But don’t worry if hiking isn’t your thing! Our list also includes plenty of accessible viewpoints that you can easily reach by car or other means. Whether you hike or drive, you won’t want to miss these incredible sights in Banff!

  • Banff National Park - Explore the intriguing world of taxidermy at the Banff Trading Post, featuring local wildlife like a grizzly bear that even Marilyn Monroe posed with, and the legendary merman, encased here for decades.

Discover the intricate beadwork and moccasins crafted by the Indigenous Stoney Dakota people, where legends come to life. This historic fur trading building, dating back to the turn of the century, is a testament to the rich cultural heritage of the area. Join us in honoring these traditions while celebrating the vibrant stories that connect us all!

  • Banff National Park - A must-see natural attraction in Banff National Park, this canyon is a spectacular hike for all seasons and the most popular in Canada. Its appeal lies in stunning scenery, multiple waterfall vistas, and easy access over a short distance, making it enjoyable for everyone, regardless of age or fitness level.

For a more intimate experience, aim to hit the trailhead before 8 am or after 6 pm during the summer months. This way, you can escape the bus groups and larger crowds that typically visit during peak hours, changing the dynamic of the hike. As you venture further up the trail, you’ll find the number of visitors decreases, allowing you to fully appreciate the natural beauty surrounding you. Enjoy the adventure!

  • Banff National Park - A great option if you like hot pools to relax those tired muscles at the end of a great day is to wade in Fairmont Banff Springs! Enjoy the saltwater outdoor pool, heated to perfection, surrounded by the Rockies, year-round. Unwind in a rejuvenating atmosphere. Order drinks and snacks right to your lounge chair. Whatever your ideal pool experience, we’ve got you covered!
  • Lake Louise - Another great option is Lake Louise! Prepare to be dazzled by the stunning ice sculptures at Lake Louise! The Ice Magic Festival creates a winter wonderland atmosphere. Ice skating and snowshoeing on the frozen lake are must-dos, plus you can enjoy a drink or hot maple syrup on a stick at the Ice Bar.

Dress warmly with layers, mitts, scarves, and hats so you can enjoy every moment. After exploring the sculptures, stop by the Lakeview Lounge at the Chateau Lake Louise for a cozy appetizer and hot toddy. Don’t forget your skates—rent from Wilson Mountain Sports to glide around the iconic ice castle by the shoreline. Winter magic awaits!

  • Banff National Park - A short walk around the little lake leads to an old hermit’s cabin! Welcome to the intriguing tale of Billy Carver, a man whose life in Banff is shrouded in mystery. For 27 years, he lived alone in a hidden cabin by Johnson Lake, choosing solitude over society. Speculation surrounds his reclusive lifestyle, but investigations revealed no legal reasons for his seclusion.

Billy built his cozy cabin in 1910, equipped with handmade furniture and a small stove. His only connection to the outside world was Gee Moy, who brought him supplies from the Market Garden, keeping him hidden from the bustling town.

In December 1937, two local boys found Billy in distress and alerted the authorities. He was taken to an old-age home, where he later passed away. Yet, his spirit is said to linger; many claim to have spotted a ghostly figure near the cabin. Could it be Billy himself, still watching over his beloved retreat? Join us as we uncover the secrets of Billy’s haunted cabin!

  • Banff National Park - Nestled in the heart of Banff National Park, downtown Banff beautifully combines stunning natural scenery with the lively atmosphere of a mountain town.

Wow, 100% worth it - A few friends were visiting from the east coast and while I live in Calgary I am not the most knowledgeable about trails and hikes and in general mountain living. Sue is a fantastic hostess and would highly recommend you book with her. She is a Hidden gem.
