Temple of the Golden Buddha (Wat Traimit) - Officially named Phra Phuttha Maha Suwanna Patimakon, and commonly referred to in Thai as Phra Sukhothai Traimit, this gold Maravijaya Attitude seated Buddharupa statue weighs 5.5 tonnes (5,500 kilograms). It is situated in Wat Traimit temple in Bangkok, Thailand. Historically, the statue was covered with stucco and colored glass to hide its true value, remaining in this state for nearly 200 years, and was considered a minor pagoda. In 1955, during its relocation, the plaster was removed, revealing the gold beneath.
