• Phrasumain Fortress - Phra Sumen Fort is a fortress built in the reign of King Rama I. At that time, 14 forts were built to protect the capital. However, as time passed, the forts were no longer necessary and were demolished. Phra Sumen Fort is one of only two forts left, the other being Mahakan Fort.

Many lives had been lost as ships foundered in the nearby river, and local belief dictated that, as a result, a temple should be constructed like a boat to bring back good fortune. Although abandoned for many years, monks finally took up residence in the temple again during King Rama the III or IV’s reign.
