- At 03:45 am: We reach the starting point and our experienced hiking guides will give an overview and safety…
Join us for a memorable journey to the summit of Mount Batur in Bali, where you can witness a magnificent sunrise from the peak of an active volcano.
Here is the plan:
- From 01:30 to 03:00 am: We will pick you up from your accommodation in Bali
- At 03:45 am: We reach the starting point and our experienced hiking guides will give an overview and safety briefing
- At 04.09 am: Our guide will lead you in a 90-minute trek to reach the summit just in time for the sunrise
- At 06:00 am: Enjoy a warm cup of tea or coffee served by our guide as you marvel at the breathtaking sunrise
- At 07:00 am: From the summit, you can choose to head straight to the car park OR take a tour with our guide around the rim to explore the second crater (erupted in 1926), the third crater (erupted in 1963), and the newest crater (erupted in 1974 and 1994)
- At 09:00 am: We will reach back at the base
- At 09:20 am: Indulge in a breakfast at a restaurant overlooking the lake and Mount Batur
- Between 11:00 am and 01:00 pm: Expected time of return to your hotel
- Children 4-years and under are free with accompanied of an adult

Amazing must-do!!! - As I solo female traveller you are always apprehensive about solo trips in a country you don’t know but I cannot recommend this trip enough for a safe, amazing, once in a life time experience!!
Communication from booking is very good.
I had the lovely Bobby drive me and the fabulous Wayan Budiawan guide me up and down the volcano. Both so kind and attentive to a fun visit.
This hike is quite tough for 1.5 hours but plenty of breaks and Wayan always made sure I was OK.
I chose the coffee plantation after breakfast which was a nice addition to the day.

A must do. 10/10 experience! - Thank you so much to Wayan Budiawan, my tour guide, and Wayan Sileb, my driver for making my experience exceptional. Everything exceeded my expectations, and the whole trip was very seamless, from pick up to drop off. They were both so friendly, took some incredible photos for me, and made the trip truly special! I couldn’t recommend this experience more to anyone thinking of doing it. It’s a must!

Fantastic morning - Brilliant experience. It was a cloudy day but still a great morning. We also went to the hot springs after. Our driver Putu was lovely and brought us to all different locations and waited for us at each one. We had minor difficulties with our jeep but it was resolved very fast with a replacement jeep.Couldn’t ask for better service! They also take great photos for us!

The best sunrise views - We loved our sunrise hike up Mount Batur! Our driver Putu Anton was very punctual and friendly and our guide Wayan was so helpful as well. The views at the top were worth the walk - definitely recommend!

Sunrise worth the effort - The trip was fantastic, but a little difficult for those with poor fitness. Our guide Wayan Budiawan helped carry bags up the mountain and was very helpful and cheerful. We also were given snacks at the summit before our great breakfast. We also went to the hot springs which unfortunately had a lot of flies everywhere. Our driver Gede Edi was very safe and had very good air conditioning in the car. The best part of the trip was our guides photography skills which gave us fantastic photos.

Great experience! - We have booked for 4 people, 2 adults and 2 children 8 and 10 years old.
They picked us up on time at our accommodation in Ubud.
We met our guide for trekking once there. The hike went very well, the guide gives us headlamps (we had our own) and water. Two possibilities: either by road to start (easier) or via a trail (more difficult, the stones roll bcp underfoot, it's quite tiring). Halfway, new choice: the trail continues on a fairly steep slope with "steps" (translate big rocks to climb) or less steep path that winds. Both are coming to the same place.
We took the steepest trail, it was a challenge for the children at 4am but they loved climbing and even caught up with the groups in front of us.
On top, tea or coffee is offered as well as a boiled egg cooked in the volcano's vapours.
After enjoying the sunrise, we went back down another path to arrive via a small forest at a different parking lot from the starting one. But the driver was waiting for us, everything went well.
For breakfast, the choices are reduced but the view and the place splendid.

Worth the trip. Do it. - I cannot recommend this trip enough. My sincerest thanks to my driver, Putu Anton, for a timely pickup and journey to and from the dropoff location for the hike. What can I say about my guide Wayan Budiawan except that he's an absolute legend. Since I was a solo hiker, we were able to quickly make it to the top (it certainly gives you a workout, but it's a very doable hike) and have the mountaintop all to ourselves for a few minutes before other groups started showing up. We lucked out with spectacular weather the day I went, but honestly even if it was cloudy it still would have been incredible. Wayan is more than happy to set you up for success, collecting photos and video of you on your journey. I am not one to ask for someone to take my photo, but Wayan was more than happy to. If you're debating whether or not the early wakeup call is worth it, let me tell you it is absolutely worth it.

You have to do this if you’re in Ubud. - Our guide Wayan Budiawan made our experience 10/10. Numerous, energetic and we had loads of fun. We set off early and are both in good health so made good time to the top.
Many thanks to our driver Putu Anton too getting us there so quickly and early!
Humble brag managing to set the 6th fastest recorded time on Strava for the ascent!!
