Should sufficient time be available, tourists may also wish to visit the historic landmarks of Kutaisi, such as the Gelati Cathedral, Motsameta Monastery, and Bagrati Temple.
Excursions begin either in Kutaisi or Tbilisi. The distance from Tbilisi to Kutaisi is 240 kilometers, which translates to a one-way drive of 2.5-3 hours. Stops at the Sataplia and Prometheus caves are scheduled for an hour each, while each historic landmark requires a half-hour visit.
Be aware that Sataplia Park may be inaccessible in Winter due to snow.
