Pick up from Lodge/Hotel- Machame Gate (1790m) to Machame Camp (3010m)

Machame Camp - One hour’s drive from Moshi lies the gate to the Machame route, where we complete park formalities, meet our crew of porters and start to climb! The first section of the route climbs steadily and passes through magnificent, dense rainforest. This path is less well-trodden so it can get somewhat overgrown in places and it is often wet and muddy underfoot.

The Machame trail is our most favoured and triumphant trekking path on Mt. Kilimanjaro, primarily due to the ensuing significant reasons:

• On the third day of the trek, the layout of this trail lets you ascend high and slumber low - commencing from Shira camp (3 847m), hike to Lava Tower (4 642m) and descend to Barranco camp (3 984m) to spend the night.

• The summit venture route from Barafu camp has less loose scree (rocks) compared to the summit venture path from Kibo Hut, which marginally facilitates reaching the crater rim.
