Additional Information

Barcelona stands out among the cities of Spain, representing a rich blend of varied influences. Over time, different cultures from within Spain and afar have shaped Barcelona’s traditional dishes, which were initially not a part of the city’s culinary narrative. In our tour, we will visit a variety of traditional and contemporary establishments, enabling you to experience the authentic Barcelona through its gastronomy.

  • Enjoy an exclusive tour of a local market, always bustling with residents (not the Boqueria!).
  • Understand—through sampling!—how Barcelona’s current traditional dishes evolved.
  • Discover the local flavors of two quintessential Barcelona zones: el Born and Barceloneta.

A wonderful way to enhance your experience of Barcelona - Valentina was a fantastic tour guide who was clearly loved by the various owners of the shops and restaurants that we visited. Our tour took us to a food market, an archeological site, through multiple neighborhoods, several small shops, and two separate restaurants, all of which were interesting--and phenomenal in the case of the food. From olives to Iberico ham, croissants to paella, everything was delicious. We learned much about the history of Barcelona and the beautiful traditions of the region. Also, we had ample opportunities to enjoy the food and beverages of Catalan and the larger Iberian peninsula. It was absolutely a first-rate experience which I wholeheartedly recommend to enhance your visit to Barcelona. My two college-age daughters also loved it. Well worth the price of the tickets!

Great food and an excellent introduction to the neighborhoods of Barcelona - The markets and food in general are very important to Barcelonins, so this was a great introduction to the city and it's history. We walked through several city neighborhoods and tried a wide of array of wonderful food, finishing with a paella in the Fisherman's Quarter. Skip breakfast and come to the tour hungry! Our guide, Jordi, was great – explaining the background of everything we ate and providing recommendations on where to eat during our stay in Barcelona.

Best tastes and traditions tour in Spain! - We wanted something out of the ordinary, and saw a YouTube video about this tour. We were taken to a quaint market rather than the overcrowded and noisy one, learnt a little about history and traditions, tasted some delicious foods along the way, and came away feeling like we'd eaten our way through Barcelona. Our guide was wonderful and patient, and her passion clearly shone through. I highly recommend Devour tours!
