Our tour of Barcelona's Old Jewish Quarter - Our tour guide, Alan, gave us a memorable tour of Barcelona's Jewish Quarter. Because my wife and I were the only ones on the tour, he was able to show us things that may not have been possible with a larger group, such as the interior of the ancient synagogue. Alan gave us a lot of information about Roman and medieval Barcelona, and also more modern information, like showing us where this area was marked by the Spanish Civil War. Alan was knowledgeable and great!

Scam - We didn't even go past the old synagogue that is in the title of the tour! From the description, you would think that you would learn about the Jewish community that thrived for centuries, but we didn't learn a single thing. The tour guide knew nothing about the Jewish quarter and the Jewish history of Barcelona. We saw none of the sites promised in the description, and that was shown in the short virtual tour. Btw the virtual tour can be done on your own time since it is part of a separate business. The only thing that we did that was promised was the virtual reality and a tapas bar. The remaining portion of the tour was 2.5 hours of walking around random streets without a purpose and seeing the city market and a house Gaudi designed. It was super awkward and disorganized. The tour guide told us she never did this tour before and was something that was pushed on her at the very last moment. If that is the case the organizer of the tours is scamming his customers. Barcelona's Jewish community was viciously destroyed during the inquisition, and these people are scamming the people who want to keep their memory alive. Disgusting and disrespectful.
