Great tour of Barcelona’s past - A very informative tour about the Spanish Civil War and the resulting dictatorship. The tour went through several neighborhoods with stops in each which provided a good perspective of the conflict. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and made the tour exciting as well as educational. The last stop at the book store which has amazing books and posters.

An exceptional experience! - I can only speak in superlatives to describe the tour. I was aware of the basic facts about the Spanish civil war and Franco's regime, but this tour revealed a whole world that lies behind these facts and connected so many dots in my knowledge of European history in 20th century as a whole, basically a shnellcourse on the 20th century! What I liked most was how well it was explained and how it also provided connections to events that took place elsewhere in Europe - providing the context and cause-effect explainations. It inspired me to read on the topic some more - currently enjoying the novel The Time of the Doves by Rodoreda. In short, probably the best tour I've ever been on, would highly recommend to both casuals and history aficionados.

Informative tour - This was a great overview of the Spanish Civil War in Barcelona. Onno was an informative guide, welcoming questions, and showing photos of important factors in the war. Not too much walking but be prepared for a one euro charge for your voice box which was unexpected. I highly recommend this tour for all levels of knowledge about this topic.

Past and Present! - The war is complicated and Barcelona has a particular history in it. Yannis’ visuals, oral history and literary refs made it clear and connect it to the present. He is knowledgeable about the war and all its elements and context and makes it all accessible. This is also a good way to understand and be familiar with Placa Catalunya and the Gothic Quarter. Highly recommend!
