Highlights
  • Passeig the Gracia Street, one of Barcelona’s major avenues, is renowned for its modernist architecture and high-end shopping outlets. In the early 19th century, it became a residential hub for Barcelona’s affluent class, who made commissions to notable modernist architects like Gaudi, Puig i Cadafalch, Domenech i Montaner, and Sagnier.
  • Upon concluding the tour, the guide will distribute tickets to either la Pedrera, Casa Batlló, or both, contingent upon your chosen tour option. Casa Batlló: A thorough renovation enriched this existing structure. Throughout the renovation, Josep Batlló, the then property owner and a renowned entrepreneur in the city’s textile sector, admired Gaudí’s earlier works and approached him to oversee the project. Even with his ongoing major projects, Gaudi accepted the offer. The building is an exceptional illustration of Gaudi’s nature-inspired creativity, showcased through the amalgamation of organic shapes, varied colors and embellishments.
  • Post concluding the tour, your guide will hand over your tickets to either La Pedrera, Casa Batlló or both, based on your selection. La Pedrera - Casa Milà: Gaudí was commissioned by the famed Milà family to construct a residential building upon Josep Batlló’s recommendation. Pere Milà i Camps, a wealthy businessman who inherited a large fortune from his father’s textile business, commissioned the construction of various apartments. The first floor was reserved for Milà Family, with the remaining floors divided into several rental apartments. Uncover the reasons behind the project’s multiple delays. Explore the two courtyards, the last three floors (rooftop, attic, and an apartment) and the temporary exhibition area (subject to the exhibition schedule).

Great tour guide for Gaudi and his work! - Roberto was an excellent guide. He was very knowledgeable, friendly and entertaining. He gave us the background of the buildings, Gaudi and his workers as well as the people who hired him. I would gladly go on another tour with him!

Casa Mila and Casa Batllo , worth to visit? - Yes. After 20 years I revisit both of them in 2019. I would suggest you visit yourself rather than follow a guide as it is not a big site, a lot of pictures you can take and the audio guide Machine is very user friendly. I bought the skip the line ticket from internet, as I guess there are many people , and the Casa Batllo which is 6 mins walk from Casa Mila can actually queue up to buy a ticket , we found it interesting as well , as they also have faked snow inside, very pretty. For ladies , the Chanel , LV ... shops nearby and you can buy few items with good discount with 20%tax refund , after the shopping, the tax refund shop just located near LV shop, u can ask the staff. Beware of the queue!
