Mariah was the best guide - Myself and my fiancee had a really great night with Mariah as our guide, going around some of the best places to get a drink in El Born. She was so friendly and knowledgeable, it's so nice to have a guide who is so connected to the local area and will show you some of the best hidden secrets that you wouldn't usually notice otherwise. Would highly recommend for anyone who wants to learn a little bit about the bar scene and also the origins of it in Barcelona.

Bubbles, flowers and fascinating details. - Wish I could remember our guide's name - she was a great guide! Do be aware that the pick-up location is actually in plain sight but easy to not notice -- look for the concrete shapes at the back of the plaza. We were there early and, while we were waiting, there were bubble blowers that were entertaining children in the plaza -- too much fun to watch little ones try to catch the bubbles. Our guide rounded up tour members and took us through back streets to show us the historic and everyday areas of Barcelona. She knew tons of interesting details and could point out things that would be easily overlooked, but that added to the uniqueness of the tour. Note: Be prepared for beautiful flowers in the spring. She was fantastic with everyone on the tour. Some had emotional personal stories connected to the guide's stories -- a situation she handled with respect and support while still moving the group along the tour route. She knew so much that a return trip would not be the same, I'm sure.

Not a Review but a Commentary - I can't review this tour because I was not able to find the starting location for the tour. The fact that the tour began in the Gothic quarter with alleyways and paths that wander this way and that way made it impossible for us to locate the tour leader in time to start the tour. We asked a number of local people for the location of Placa Nova and the Barcino Sculpture and were met with blank stares and a lot of "I don't know". Not haviing an internet connection for my phone made it just impossible to us to connect with the tour. So this is not really a review but some commentary regarding the tour. This turned out to be my biggest disappoiintment for my 12 day stay in Portugal and Spain.
