Perfect way to round out our stay in Catalonia & Spain - We booked this tour on our last day in Barcelona, and our last day of vacation, for 3 practical reasons:
1. At the start of this trip, we loved their sister company – Walks: Best of Seville Walking Tour: Exclusive Early Alcazar Access, Cathedral & Jewish Quarter
2. Devour kindly agreed to let us keep a couple of small pieces of luggage on the tour van, so when we were done – we could relocate to a hotel closer to the airport.
3. This tour was a really nice way to wind down the end of the trip – I didn’t have to think, my feet didn’t hurt, and it was nice to get away from the crowds and into the countryside.
4. We love wine tourism!
The landscapes, the wine, and the people made this a fabulous experience! Feliciano was a charismatic, knowledgeable, and personable guide. We learned about his family, Barcelona, and the history of the region while we drove out to Montserrat. The vistas going and coming from Montserrat were breathtaking, and the monastery was surreal in the mist?! He led us through the cathedral – and we had a few minutes on our own. We then had a snack and then onto the art museum that Feliciano recommended – it did NOT disappoint! Super stars around every corner?! I only wish we would have had more time in the cathedral and museum. From there, we took a beautiful drive around the rocks and into the valley to the Joan Segura Pujadas Bodega, where we learned about their process of wine making and history. I even got a chance to help disgorge a bottle of cava! We then got to ride jeeps into the vineyard to sample some of the wine among the grapes, and I finally realized that Joan, the owner, was our driver?! He was unpretentious, down to earth, and friendly, as was our tour guide and his translator. It started raining so I think they may have had to change plans and take us back to the Bodega for our lunch and wine pairing – which was delicious! We bought wine, and ordered some to be shipped, so we can dream about our vacation now 6 months later. This was a perfect, easy, worry-free way to end our vacation.

Awesome Tour! - The tour was awesome! Our tour began with a trip to Montserrat, followed by a visit to Joan Segura winery. Everything we did just exceeded our expectations. Valentina is also an amazing guide. She was knowledgeable about every aspect of the tour.

Excellent Day Trip from Barcelona - This was an absolute highlight of my recent European vacation, and honestly was also one of the best guided tours I've ever taken. Our guide Feliciano was funny, knowledgeable, and helpful. He had such a rich knowledge of both Montserrat and the winery. He was also kind enough to give extra recommendations for restaurants in Barcelona as well.
Leaving early for Montserrat is incredibly worth it because the crowds come in quick. The actual visit of the Black Madonna is done rather quickly to avoid long wait times - so if you're looking for a more spiritual/religious experience, this might not be the best tour for you. But, if you just want a chance to visit and appreciate the beauty of the sights, then you'll have a great time. After the Black Madonna, you'll get free time to explore the area. You can go up the funicular if you want to (the views are well-worth it) or just look around. Make sure to try the mato (it's a type of cheese) from the local food market stalls that get set up later in the day. We also bought things to take home with us.
The vineyard tour was a fantastic experience, and the best part of the day. Georgina was an amazing guide - she was enthusiastic and engaging. She had so much to share with the entire group. Joan was also a lovely host, he didn't have much to say due to the language barrier, but he gave us an amazing view of his property and his wife prepared a hearty meal for us!
Overall, I highly recommend joining this tour if you have the opportunity to do so. The views were amazing, the company was great, and the food was delicious. If there isn't much traffic either, you'll also get back to Barcelona early enough to have a nice evening to round out your day.

Cava in the Catalan Region - Was on this tour at the end of September (yes I'm tardy!). Ariana, our guide, was just amazing. Articulate and knowledgeable. While Montserrat was stunning, the Cava winery visit at Joan Segura Pejudas was a highlight heading out in jeeps to the vineyards and the meal cooked onsite by some of the family incredible. Very much recommend this tour.

An incredible and diverse tour! - We just took the Devour Montserrat & Cava Winery Tour: Day Trip from Barcelona with Lunch with Arianna and had a wonderful day! Arianna is very organized and extremely informative and we would highly recommend the tour! Montserrat is amazingly beautiful as was the mountain drive and monestary. This tour is paired with a trip to a quaint village to visit a wonderful cava winery. It was a unique tour and we got to sample some wonderful cava, wine and a desert wine and were treated to a wonderful farm lunch by the owner of the winery. He even drove us out to see his land full of grape vines and also olive trees. We even toured an old stone church. It was a day filled with beauty and local culture! It rained for part of the day, but even with some rain, it was a perfect tour! I even got to participate in a part of the wine making process!

A wonderful and unforgettable day out - Wonderful and amazing day with Feliciano, Joan and Georgina.
Feliciano our guide was amazing with a wicked sense of humour and history. He gave us all the right advice as we had limited time and had to choose our points of interest. We should have stayed at the Montserrat for 2 nights to grasp everything on offer. The museum, farmers market was interesting. Wish we had more time in the museum. After this we drove to Penedes winery and were met by Joan( owner) and Georgina our hostess. Georgina had an incredible knowledge of Joan’s history in wine making and explained clearly how Joan insisted on keeping things natural , organic, environmentally friendly. We could see her passion.
We then went 4WD to a cute little lunch place where we had the most delicious, simple, organic meal- home made.
Followed by wine and port.
What a way to end our day!!
You will not regret this trip. Make sure you get Feliciano, Joan and Georgina.
Full comiments to Sam our driver for the fay as we had to navigate winding roads in restricted visibility

Great experience! - Great experience! Our tour guide Lorena was awesome and enthusiastic the whole time. She made the tour more lively with her sense of humor. The tour felt very well constructed. I would advise to plan ahead since a lot of the activities require a ticket that needs to be purchased ahead of time. Overall it was a great time and the winery was very nice.

Highlight of our Barcelona stay! - Amazing tour! I have been on many food tours and this by far is the best one I’ve had in terms of the range of experiences, the food, and the hospitality of the hosts and guide.
MONTSERRAT
You leave Barcelona early (before 8) so that when you get to Montserrat, you are there before the huge crowds and large group tours. Such an advantage! You don’t have to wait long for the line to the Black Madonna and the line to the funicular.
If you are going to Montserrat for the religious experience, this isn’t the tour for you. Join the many other religious-focused tours. But if you want to experience the fullness of all Montserrat has to offer, this is the tour for you! You are taken to see the Black Madonna, then you are given 1.5 hours of free time to wander around the area. You can take the funicular (around 13 euros/ticket) or go to the art museum or hike or jute enjoy the views. A must is to buy cheese and food from the pop-up local market!
WINE TOUR
After Montserrat, you are driven to a small family owned winery. The reception area and cellar itself is beautifully designed. I can’t remember the name of our sommelier but she was wonderfully friendly, knowledgeable, and engaging!
Then you are taken to the vineyard! As in literally you board a truck and drive through the terrain and through the trees. Our truck was driven by the owner himself! This was such a unique experience. You stop by a place overlooking the vineyard where you eat a tasty, hearty lunch typical of Spanish farmers.
PEOPLE
What makes this tour super great also is the warmth of the hosts. The vineyard owner himself was there to greet us, drove our truck himself and he took us to nice spots of his vineyard, his wife cooked the meals for us, our sommelier is so bright and lively, but especially Feliciano who I can say is the best tour guide we’ve ever had. Lively, engaging but not overbearing, attentive, friendly, funny, easy to talk to, even gave us recommendations for places in Barcelona!
Make sure to take this tour! It’s such a unique and heartfelt and yummy experience!
