Great experience, but keep more intense than I was expecting. - Hiking tour to Montserrat was fantastic. Our guide Christian was great! He was very nice and informative and we had a great time with him. A few notes on the tour itself: The incline of a good portion of the hike is higher than I was expecting. I'm in relatively good health, but I'm short, so it was harder for me to keep up and I got exceedingly winded a few times. I had to stop to catch my breath. There are also a LOT of steps on the way down - some of them larger since they are stone steps. If you don't hike regularly, don't walk on inclines regularly, or have bad knees/ankles, this may be difficult for you. I do wish I would have thought to stretch my legs before or after - two days later and my calves still hurt badly as I'm not able to rest them with all the walking involved with touring. Also, keep in mind the altitude changes, if you think this may affect you. All this said, I did enjoy this tour. The views were spectacular, the small group was a perfect size, and the guide was great.

The only way to explore Monserrat. - This was an outstanding adventure. Not a tour but a hike filled with history, botany, geology and more. Ramon’s passion for history, hiking and his homeland made the excursion unforgettable. A guide to the museum, an off the beaten track hike and an understanding of the connections between the flora and fauna and the monk’s famous Aromas de Montserrat. I would recommend this to anyone.

Amazing views and conversation - This is a great experience for anyone wanting to get out and see some beautiful nature along with some great history. Ramon did a wonderful job describing the history of Montserrat and describing the natural environment, how it was formed, and the wildlife that habitats the area. Overall, we hiked around 6km (3.5 miles), got some lovely views, some great local snacks and great conversation. Thanks Ramon!

Incredible views and an awesome experience! - Just an incredible experience! The views were breathtaking and it was a wonderful way to get above the bustling city of Barcelona. The trails were rewarding without being difficult, and there were several different vantage points that served as a good place for a break and to take photos. Our guide was excellent, sharing a lot of incredible knowledge, answering our questions, and providing us with a few snacks from the region. It was our first time to Spain and we felt our guide really helped add some context to this part of the country. I highly recommend this trip for anyone visiting the area. It was a highlight of our adventure!

Great Hike with a Great Guide - The hike and guide (Bernart) were wonderful. It was perfect weather hiking day, although the hike does include shady areas. The scenery is gorgeous and the guide very knowledgeable and attentive. It's a great way to see a different side of the monastery and its surroundings.

Amazing day - Wonderful tour!!! Perfect for us with two teenagers. Enough historical information to feel we had a good sense of the place, but the highlight was definitely the hike. Incredible scenery and views and we were lucky to have some shade on the way up. Be prepared for some pretty steep paths and stairs. Our guide Bernard was amazing. Knowledgeable, professional and kept our whole group engaged.

Great mix of hiking and the traditional monastery - Great mix of history of the monastery, which you do get to enter the basilica, and reasonable hike. Great views and info on geology and more history. There is a place to refill water at the monastery and a nice farmers marker with cheeses and nuts and honey.
