Unbelievable views of Montserrat - This was a great tour for half a day. The bus was easy to find, as described by Amigo Tours. The bus was also very clean and pristine. The driver was also amazing and did a wonderful job getting us there and back safely. The views of Montserrat were indescribable. There was enough free time to take the funicular up the mountain, take a quick hike, have an early lunch and do a little shopping for souvenirs. Nuria was our guide and she was great! She was very kind, approachable and very knowledgeable about the history of mountain and the monastery, as well as the sights/buildings of Barcelona we drove past en route to Montserrat. This is definitely one tour to remember!

Basic Trip to Montserrat via Amigo Transport. - The experience was adequate but the company, Amigo Travel were not transparent in their communication with prospective buyers. The pickup location is a train station in Barcelona. There was no company official holding up a sign saying “Montserrat”, as was advertised. A panel van arrived outside the station about 5 minutes before expected time of departure. On enquiring, the guide said “yes, this is the transport to Montserrat”. There was a set price for the experience, which was really a transportation fee only, which was about 60 euros. Once we arrived at Montserrat we had to pay an entrance fee. About 10 euros. The most disappointing miscommunication was that we were not able to view and kiss the feet of the black Madonna. It was oversubscribed by the time we reached the ticket 🎟️ office at 0930. For Black Madonna viewing we should have booked for this at least several days earlier. It left a bit of “ a bad taste in our mouths”. It is still definitely a location to experience. The general entrance fee and additional Black Madonna fee should be clearly communicated to prospective customers. The tour guide herself had an engaging personality and was fairly knowledgeable. However, she was only available as a guide to customers who had “ paid for more”. “More” included such things as riding up the last elevation from the little town below in a train. The rest of us completed the upwards journey in the van. Once we got out of the van we were “on our own” for the rest of our time at Montserrat. This was OK, but again this was not clearly communicated by Amigo Tours. Our version of the trip was Amigo Transport!!

Not impressed with tour guide - Our tour guide was not helpful at all!!!! Many of the people in our group were asking questions confused on what to do/where to go, the guide was reluctant to answer questions. Quite possible the worst tour guide experience of this trip. At least the destination made up for how the trip started. Maybe look into a different tour company to book your trip with.
