Highlights
  • Oscar Getz Museum of Whiskey History - Originally built in 1826 as a College & Seminary, this building was later converted into a hospital for both the North and South during the Civil War. It also served as a home for orphaned boys under the care of The Sisters of Charity. Today, the Oscar Getz Whiskey Museum occupies the main floor, offering guests a deep dive into Kentucky’s rich culture.

To kick off our tour, you’ll enjoy a freshly baked biscuit from local baker Lisa Reed Sheckles, accompanied by Famous Jake’s Country Sausage.

  • Scout & Scholar Brewing Co. - The only brewery in Bardstown, named in honor of William and David Bard. The land that is now Bardstown was granted to David Bard by the governor of Virginia. Originally called Salem, settlement began in the 1770s. In 1780, William Bard, David’s brother, laid out Bardstown on this site, and it became the county seat when Nelson County, Virginia was formed in 1784.

Here, you’ll sample Kentucky beer cheese with pretzels and loaded nachos, paired with Scout’s top-selling beer, Ol’ Buddy.

  • The Volstead Bourbon Lounge - Named after Andrew John Volstead, the man responsible for enabling the enforcement of Prohibition starting in 1920. This bourbon lounge boasts over 700 different expressions of whiskey. Relax in the lounge and soak in the atmosphere!

Here, you’ll enjoy a delicious bourbon peach slushie or a GAME CHANGER, along with a handmade Kentucky bourbon ball!

  • Talbott Tavern - Built in 1779 and located at the crossroads of the young west, this tavern has offered hospitality to many, including Jesse James and King Louis Philippe!

Here, you’ll try a southern delicacy: fried green tomatoes, paired with 1792 single barrel whiskey, hand-selected by the Tavern!

  • Mr. Tubs - Once a bustling laundromat, Mr. Tubs has transformed into a vibrant and eclectic bar while retaining its original name as a nod to its humble beginnings. It exudes unique charm with its industrial-chic aesthetic, blending remnants of its laundry past with modern dĂ©cor and ambiance.

Here, you’ll try a local favorite, Gethsemane fruit cake, paired with Monk’s Road wheated whiskey!
