Highlights
  • Basilica San Nicola - The Basilica of Saint Nicholas is a significant pilgrimage site for both Roman Catholics and Orthodox Christians, and is one of the top attractions.
  • Cattedrale di San Sabino - This cathedral, the seat of the Archbishop of Bari-Bitonto, is dedicated to Saint Sabinus, a bishop from Canosa whose relics were brought here in the 9th century. Visitors can also explore the underground Roman walls known as Succorpo.
  • Castello Normanno Svevo - The Norman-Swabian Castle features a collection of plaster casts and hosts temporary art exhibitions.
  • Piazza del Ferrarese - Piazza Ferrarese has long been one of the gateways to the old town, which stretches from Piazza Ferrarese - Piazza Mercantile to the Normanno-Svevo castle with its narrow streets, alleys, and small squares. Recent restorations revealed a short section of the ancient Via Appia – Traiana, built by the Romans in the early 2nd century A.D.
  • Piazza Mercantile - Historically the center of commercial and administrative activities due to the city market and the palazzo Sedile, Piazza Mercantile remains an essential meeting place for the citizens of Bari.

Pasta, History & Fun! - Chiara was an awesome guide! We had so much fun touring the old city, learning about Bari’s history, making and eating delicious orecchiette and much more! We enjoyed the small group (6 people total) and she was even able to point us to some local places for food & drink. Highly recommend for anyone trying to see the major attractions in the old city.

Lovely way to discover the city - 3h with the very friendly Giada cycling across the old city and discovering the art of making orecchiette in the kitchen of one of the lady makers. It was a super nice way to discover the beautiful city of Bari, all well organized and professional. Giada gave us tons of explanations and we ended with a degustation of the (yummy) pasta and an ice cream. Great activity and easily accessible to all (no need to be super into sports)

Heaps of fun, very informative, overall one of the most enjoyable tours I've done. - Riding through the historical city was beautiful. Our guide, the very lovely Carlotta was informative and fun. The pasta making was a hoot and our Nona was a joy to be around. I definitely recommend this tour.
