Review (2023-12-01): This was a memorable tour during our 2023 Christmas season - The places where the tour guide took us to, were decorated nicely and it gave us a true feeling of the start of the Christmas season. The kids really enjoyed the atmosphere in the streets and the tour guide’s story of the Christmas tree. We also purchased some locally made products at the traditional Christmas Market.
As the day progresses, the cloud cover provides a gentle shade, perfect for leisurely strolls. The traditional Christmas Market is a must-visit, offering local delicacies that tantalize the taste buds and handcrafted gifts that capture the essence of Bari’s festive spirit.
A Day Trip to Timeless Beauty
For those who yearn to explore beyond the city, the UNESCO Heritage Day Trip offers a journey through time. On November 30th, embark on a day trip to Matera and Alberobello, two of Puglia’s most iconic UNESCO sites. The tour begins in the morning, whisking you away in a comfortable minivan to Matera, where the ancient Sassi, cave dwellings carved into the rock, await your discovery.
Matera, with its labyrinthine streets and historical charm, feels like a step back in time. The expert local guide will lead you through this ancient city, sharing stories that bring its rich history to life. After a leisurely exploration, enjoy some free time to savor the local cuisine, perhaps indulging in a traditional pasta dish or a glass of local wine.
The journey continues to Alberobello, where the unique trulli houses, with their conical roofs, create a whimsical landscape. As you wander through Aia Piccola and Rione Monti, the beauty of these drystone buildings, dusted with a hint of festive snow, is truly enchanting.
Review (2024-09-28): Best tour Matera and Alberobello - Anna was an amazing tour guide! She was full of knowledge and good facts, but she was also funny and engaging. The views we saw during the whole day were breathtaking. Time flew by and I had so much fun! 11/10 would definitely recommend!
