Piazza dell’Odegitria - Our tour starts from Piazza dell’Odegitria, inside Bari Vecchia, the city’s historic centre.
Your local expert will be waiting for you at the palms near the Cathedral’s front door.

Cattedrale di San Sabino - On the way to the first stop on the tour, we pass the Cathedral of San Sabino. At the first stop, we will taste the typical Bari focaccia in one of the oldest bakeries in town.
Focaccia barese is a delicious mixture of ground semolina, boiled potatoes, salt, yeast and water. Soft on the inside and crispy on the outside! Before baking it is covered with tomatoes and olives.
Museo Civico Bari - Walking through the alleys of the city centre, we pass the Civic Museum of Bari.
After eating the famous ‘sgagliozze’ (quares of polenta, fried by housewives all year round) and fried ‘popizze’ (ound pancakes of leavened dough), we head for the third stop, where we will eat the famous ‘panzerotto’ (The classic one has a filling of mozzarella and tomato, but you can find many other original variations).
Corso Vittorio Emanuele II - Passing through Corso Vittorio Emanuele, we head for our fourth stop where we eat the typical octopus sandwich, grilled and seasoned octopus with a drizzle of oil and a splash of lemon accompanied by a cold beer.
Castello Normanno Svevo - Our tour ends with excellent and fresh ice cream to enjoy in the warm streets of the city.

Brilliant food tour around the old town - Nicholas was amazing. Definitely come starving, a coffee for breakfast is going to be enough. You’ll be stuffed for the whole day.

Friendly tour of Bari - Alessia was a lovely guide. She is very friendly and helpful. She gave us many historical insights into the town and explained the food we ate and its history. The food was good, especially the focaccia, octopus sandwich, and gelato 🤤

Flavors of Bari! - This was the best idea we had to go on a street food tour. I was excited leading up to the day. Nicolas our guide explained the indigenous food we were eating and culture of Bari. He was so informative and we went to a few places. We had the Octopus sandwich (omg!) panzone (calzone) and the most delicious focaccia. All amazing flavors and textures. To top it off and “saving the best for last”, Nicolas took us for gelato! It’s a must try and I would hope you get Nicolas as a guide.

Pat and Anita Ireland - Nicolas was a wonderful host . We left after tour with full bellies and good understanding of local food and cooking techniques . There was lots of interaction with our host and other guests which made it special .

A must do tour of Bari - How better to explore the old town of Bari but through its great history of unique foods. The exuberance of Federica with the stories behind the food and the town ensures this experience is a must do, much like the gelato at the end of the tour.

Great food. Best Guide! - Nicolas was our guide and he was great. Provided lots of local information. The food was delicious Bari local food and portions were very generous (hint-pace yourself!). To top off a great experience was Nicolas’ recommendations. He responded to requests for more information very promptly and so helpful. Highly recommend this tour.
