Trekking in Chicamocha Canyon - We did a 4 day hike from village to village in the stunning Chicamocha Canyon! This trip is a must for all hikers bucket-list. Our guide, Gabriel arranged everything from quaint hotels to taxi and mule rides. He spoke fluent English and told us lots of information about the area: history, geology, and about the plants. We would 100% recommend this trip.

Gorgeous, Intense Hike and Rejuvenating Swim! - The eco hike from Barichara to Villanueva for breakfast, then down in to Chicamocha canyon was STUNNING - I would only recommend this for experienced hikers because of how steep the trail is in the canyon. Our guide brought 1 liter of water per person, so be sure to bring another 2-3 liters with you and bring the right sun gear for a mostly unshaded, very slow-going descent - especially when it's hot out. Gabriel was a very friendly and knowledgeable tour guide, and it was super fun hiking with his dog Buddy. The swimming at the end was LIFE-GIVING, and the restaurant had good food - though it was pricy compared to other options. It was also very cool to learn about the Destino Chicamocha they are working on to add easy-to-use signs, QR codes, and helpful information for you to guide yourself on hikes all across the region!
