Great tour, poor communication prior - Our tour was fantastic and our guide Lucas was awesome. Taught us so much about cheese & chocolate (who knew!) and showed us some great sights in town. Highly recommend. The company this was through however let us down with their poor communication, they changed the booking time without notifying us, leading to some tense moments (hours) while we tried to resolve. The local Information Centre got involved and were very helpful, and did also make the comment that the communication from the tour organisation had dropped and as a result they weren't recommending them anymore. Book this tour, but I'd recommend you reconfirm prior about the date and time. Lucas and his tour though, were excellent.

Tasting tour in Basel - This was a fabulous private tour starting at a pastry shop with tasty breads. Then Jonah took us to a small cheese shop to taste and learn about multiple cheeses and chocolates. So knowledgeable and interesting. Great tour.

Tour with Jonas - Jonas gave us an amazing tour!! He was very knowledgeable of the city, friendly, and passionate about guiding and sharing his knowledge with others - especially his knowledge of cheese, chocolate, and pastries! We found some local places we would have never known about if it wasn’t for Jonas and truly enjoyed the entire tour. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience with him!
Our only complaint was with the process from Tours of Switzerland who canceled our original reservation less than 24 hours before and had us scrambling to reschedule. But that of course doesn’t have anything to do with the incredible tour from Jonas!

Jonas is a 10/10! - Jonas, our guide, was wonderful! He answered questions, was super knowledgeable and friendly and gave us plenty of time and attention. I highly recommend this tour!

Solid tour of Basel with tastings - Our tour guide was knowledgeable and professional, and able to answer all our questions. She provided us with lots of information about Basel and made some recommendations as to where to eat and sites to visit. There was some confusion at the pastry shop, but the company was very responsive to us. The cheese and chocolate shop is run by a young couple that really know their stuff. And we enjoyed that tasting immensely. Guide met us at our hotel and then navigated us back to a location of our choice.

Interesting information about Cheese and Chocolate. - Our guide was great, very knowledgeable about cheese/chocolate. I would recommend that during the cheese and chocolate portion of the tour that chairs are provided for the attendants and something to drink, either water or wine as there is quite a bit of chocolate and cheese to consume.

Not so much tasting - Not really much of the food tour.
The tour ended in a tiny shop owned by the tour guide- while informative the shop was very small and his small child was interrupting. The guide was good but the experience was not about the food so much

Good way to see Old Town Basel - Johan was very nice and most knowledgeable about the history of Basel. He was also helpful in how to take the tram. The pastry shop we went to was amazing - I just wish I could have had a small slice of a couple of things instead of so much of one. Johan was also very well versed in the different cheeses and chocolates. I would recommend this tour.
What I didn’t like was not being able to go at the time I originally booked - 12pm. I was given one option (9:30 am)the day before , which I took but wasn’t an ideal time to do this. I was given an option of a later time that same day, but I had already made other plans. To be fair, I was also given the option to cancel for a refund but I wanted to do it.

Didn’t get to go - Our tour was cancelled the evening before the tour. We were looking forward to it very much since it had good reviews and we thought it would be a fun way to see Basel the day before our cruise. We were not informed until the night before at 11:30 pm so I did not see the note until the next mornin. It was difficult to schedule another tour the next morning on such short notice. I realize things happen and it’s part of the “risk” of booking a tour. But just wanted to let anyone booking this tour to be aware it’s a possibility that can happen.

Be aware! Not as advertised! - This is not as advertised. Add shows chocolate stores with lots of chocolate displays. It also says the chocolate tasting would be at Christmas markets. We ask about itinerary before starting tour and was told most of tour was across town it a little hole in wall store front (we already knew about the location because we were directed to the same location the day before for a tour and the store was closed. We were not notified of a cancellation, but no one was there. Another group waited with us outside in the cold and they had not been notified of a cancellation either ) We requested to cancel at this time because it was not the tour we had paid for. The tour guide said we needed to talk to her boss who was at that little store. We even had to supply our own tram tickets. Viator and vendor have refused to refund. The write up and pictures are not true. This is a bait and switch scam. When you view this tour don’t be influenced by the pictures because they don’t reflect what is actually offered
