Great tour in Basel - Jonas, was a great tour guide and the pastry cheese and chocolate tour was very enjoyable and informative . We would highly recommend this tour in Basel

Great tour! - Can’t believe I forgot to rate this tour! We had the absolute best time…walking the sites of Basel and tasting along the way. What could be better! Thank you so much for such a fun afternoon!

Must do when in Basel - We explored the city with our guide and discovered not only delicious food, but the history of this eclectic city. We were provided with other recommendations of things to do while here which were invaluable. Basel isn’t as touristy as other stops (Zurich and Interlaken) and we found having a guide invaluable. Highly recommend.

Great tour with an excellent guide - This is an excellent tour. Jonas has great knowledge of the history of Basel and is an entertaining and enthusiastic guide.
The tastings were great and i particularly enjoyed the local cheeses and the chocolate that was very different to traditional commercial chocolate.
The 2 hour length of the tour was just perfect for us.
Jonas arrived on time at our hotel and we finished on time too.

A nice introduction to Basel. Do this first - Cheese and Chocolates tasting was eyeopening to the flavors. Tasting local pastries and treats was also fun. You will get to see the old city, cross the Rhein river, ride the trolly and cover a lot of ground along the way. Our guide Jonas was able to give us some wonderful restaurant recommendations both for Basel and Luzern so our recommendation is to do this tour first.

Nice trip! - Our group of eight enjoyed our tour with Jonah. We learned so much about the history of Basel and enjoyed tasting cookies, cheese and chocolate. We did stop at a bakery and were allowed to select one pastry to take with us.
A few comments:
1. This tour is predominantly local history.
2. The tastings were during the last 45 minutes at three locations.
3. There was no seating at any tasting location.
4. There was no water available at any tasting location.
Our guide was knowledgeable and friendly. He answered our questions thoroughly.

Our guide never showed up. - Our tour was supposed to start at 2:30pm and we arrived in Basel at 1pm. The tour operator had arrived at 12:15pm and said he couldn’t take us ar 2:30pm. And so we didn’t go. I want my money back!!

Regret wasting money and time on this tour - Don’t book this tour. Did not come close to matching the description of tour advertised nor the itinerary provided with confirmation. Expected to learn a lot more of Old Town Basel and experience more tastings than 2 stops in less than 2 hours. Save your money to enjoy buying your own tastings at several of the many shops and any guide book would be more informative on history of Old Town and food production.
