ABSOLUTELY MUST DO!! - This was a great way to experience Basel! Our guide was extremely informative on the city, the history and the food! He provided us with great recommendations on restaurants.

Must do when in Basel - We explored the city with our guide and discovered not only delicious food, but the history of this eclectic city. We were provided with other recommendations of things to do while here which were invaluable. Basel isn’t as touristy as other stops (Zurich and Interlaken) and we found having a guide invaluable. Highly recommend.

Great tour with an excellent guide - This is an excellent tour. Jonas has great knowledge of the history of Basel and is an entertaining and enthusiastic guide.
The tastings were great and i particularly enjoyed the local cheeses and the chocolate that was very different to traditional commercial chocolate.
The 2 hour length of the tour was just perfect for us.
Jonas arrived on time at our hotel and we finished on time too.

A nice introduction to Basel. Do this first - Cheese and Chocolates tasting was eyeopening to the flavors. Tasting local pastries and treats was also fun. You will get to see the old city, cross the Rhein river, ride the trolly and cover a lot of ground along the way. Our guide Jonas was able to give us some wonderful restaurant recommendations both for Basel and Luzern so our recommendation is to do this tour first.

Nice trip! - Our group of eight enjoyed our tour with Jonah. We learned so much about the history of Basel and enjoyed tasting cookies, cheese and chocolate. We did stop at a bakery and were allowed to select one pastry to take with us.
A few comments:
1. This tour is predominantly local history.
2. The tastings were during the last 45 minutes at three locations.
3. There was no seating at any tasting location.
4. There was no water available at any tasting location.
Our guide was knowledgeable and friendly. He answered our questions thoroughly.

Worst experience as the guide never showed up to pick us up - I emailed the company prior to my travels, shared my email and cell with the tour guide. Ofcourse the tour guide never showed up or responded to my emails and if you contact their tour office no one answers the phone either. This is a scam

Dont waste your money on this tour. Trip advisor needs to remove this vendor

Not as advertised - Really unimpressed. The tour guide was knowledgeable, but the “chocolate, cheese and pastries” did not happen. The “pastry” was a stale sample from some random shop, the only other stop was the tour guide’s own “chocolate and cheese” shop. AND I wasn’t prepared for a walking tour (thought there would be a bus for the price). Other than the experience of walking around Basel with a tour guide, I did not enjoy this nor do I think it was advertised correctly.
