Awesome Hike up Mr. Liamuiga Volcano - I read a lot about this hike & was looking forward to this challenging adventure! Once I found out it was going to be the guide & I (solo) doing this hike, I was even more excited! Djae was simply awesome! His hiking tips & technique were top notch, along with a cool personality made for an enjoyable but hard trip up the volcano. The hike is technical but doable, just bring some good light weight hiking shoes/boots & at least 2 liters of water & snacks. And trust me, the view at the top makes all the hard work worth it! I highly recommend this adventure with this company… they’re very knowledgeable & professional… I definitely made the right choice.

Difficult hike but great tour guide! - We hiked the volcano on St Kitts with Jameel as our tour guide. He was awesome! Very patient and motivating! The hike itself is not an easy one but Janeel made the experience even better. Would definitely tour with him again! Just not the volcano 😂

Learnt so much and was occasionally pushed to keeping hiking until i couldn't feel my legs. They are the best! Do not hesitate to book. You wont regret it. #Yourlegsprobablywouldthough

Experience - The trip was fun. FYI this is a hard one. The team will help you but be prepared. I am 180 lbs 5'11" would not say very atheletic but ok and the trip gave me sore muscles for 3-5 days after. So be prepared. I went on Royal Carribean cruise and it was expensive to go with them. Overall a very nice hike, got to see the real forest. we had 4 people from England and we all went in a group which was nice.

Tough hike - absolutely worth it!! - This was a tough hike, but the view was worth it and I would absolutely recommend this! Things to know: 1. Janeel’s communication prior to and during the hike was great! He sent links to some detailed reviews ahead of time to help plan and know what to bring, reached out in the morning ahead of pickup, and truly guided us throughout the hike (where to step, when the next break was coming up, even when to rely on your toes, legs or hands - yes, I said hands - more on that later). 2. Janeel WILL push you! I promise it’s necessary as it does take a bit to get into the groove of the hike and it’s easy to question at times whether it’s doable. It is, in fact, doable but don’t discount that for the average person it WILL challenge you (for reference, I’m just shy of 50 and would consider myself in moderate shape). The back of the hike is almost more climbing than actual hiking, so be prepared. 3. But safety was always a key factor as well - Janeel ensured that the group had the breaks they needed and ensured everyone was staying hydrated (and even had us check our heart rates at the first couple of stops). They bring multiple guides (we had two on our trip) so they can split the group to accommodate if some are moving at different places. 4. What to bring: - WATER! I took 750mL of water, but would recommend taking between 1 and 1.5 liters. - Light snack (I brought a bag of trail mix and it was perfect). This is the only thing you’ll eat over 5-6 hours. They recommended we eat breakfast ahead of time - take it seriously and get in some good protein before pick up. - A travel towel or hand towel. You WILL sweat, and it might rain - in our case both happened. - Ideally at least a change of shirt - between the sweat and how dirty you will get it was nice to at least change into a fresh shirt after. But with that said I would recommend keeping it to a small backpack or at least keeping the backpack as light as possible (as you drink your water that will help). Overpacking is just more you have to lug around and when you’re ascending more than 2,000 feet in just over a couple of hours that’s the last thing you want.

Tranquil Adventure - The hike up the St. Kitts volcano offers a unique and serene experience, perfect for nature enthusiasts. The trail is wonderfully quiet and peaceful, allowing you to truly immerse yourself in the natural surroundings. As you make your way through the trail, you'll find yourself captivated by the lush greenery and diverse flora. Also, you'll be serenaded by the sounds of birds chirping and the occastional monkey call, enhancing the sense of deep in the wilderness One of the highlights of the hike is the chilly, cool, and clear river you encounter along the way. It is particularly recommended to embark on this hike during the rainy season to fully experience the river in its most vibrant state. The cool waters provide a refreshing break during the hike. Do keep in mind that the trail can get quite muddy and rocky, so wearing sturdy hiking boots is essential. The challenging terrain adds to the adventure, making the hike both exciting and rewarding. Overall, the St. Kitts volcano hike is a must-do for those looking to connect with nature, enjoy some tranquility, and experience the island's natural beauty up close.

Challenging hike but worth it when you reach the top! - Wow, what a tour! Janeel and our driver Shane were top! We had the most phenomenal day and such a whole lot of fun along the way! N.B. Janeel will send some guidance before your hike, but if you want some additional tips please see below. I hope it will help! 1. Eat a good breakfast before you go. 2. It’s not a walk up to the volcano edge, it’s a true hike! It’s 600ft higher than Snowdon, UK to give an idea of what to expect. 3. The hike starts at 700 feet. 4. You will need to be fit/resilient or both! 5. We are in our 50s and we run 2-3 times a week, walk and hike often but it was still challenging! 6. This hike, and we went at a reasonable pace took circa 5 hours up and back down plus 30 minute bus transfer from the Marriott each way. 7. Not everyone makes it to the top due to the stamina needed. Do not underestimate this hike in the heat and humidity. 8. Jameel was very safety conscious, we had walkie talkies and Jameel checked in to base at each checkpoint (there were 6 stops) to let base know our location. 9. Jameel shared plenty of knowledge of the flora and fauna along the way and there were beautiful viewpoints that he will highlight to you. I’m glad we had an opportunity to stop and appreciate. 10. We wish we had worn our hiking shoes as trainers were okay but not supportive enough for us personally. The terrain is you would expect uneven, challenging, climbing over boulders, up tree roots and ravines. 11. We saw Monkeys, Mongoose, Humming birds, butterflies and heard plenty of bird song! 12. It was dry when we went (July) a little damp under foot but we reckon it would get muddy with a splash of rain quite quickly. When it really rains the ravines turn into small rivers and you will have to go through them. We saw pictures and it looked fun! 13. Take a travel towel to use on the hike (not a hotel towel as it’s too heavy and bulky!). We have NEVER in our lives sweated as much as we did. You will be dripping by the end of the hike and grateful for the towel along the way. 14. Bring a change of clothes, you will appreciate it at the end, there’s a little hut to use at the bottom of the volcano/ rainforest for privacy! Before you catch your lift back. 15. Bring plenty of water, we took 2 bottles 500ml and we were given a further 2 x 330ml and we drank most of it! 16. Take a couple of snacks but not a picnic! You will get several 5 min stops but you need to rehydrate and snack quickly, bars, banana cake etc work well. 17. Do not take alcohol, or attempt to smoke or vape, respect the rainforest. 18. Do not leave litter, even paper tissue as its not nice to see when you are hiking and harms the beautiful wildlife and habitat you will encounter on the way. 19. That all said, it was awesome and completely exhilarating experience looking into the beautiful crater. A definite sense of achievement when you reach the top! 20. Jameel was so encouraging throughout and at all times and paced the hike to our fitness levels! 21. There is a further hike you can do, another couple of hours in addition. which takes you into the volcano which looks amazing, but I would suggest this is for a serious hiker but again the video looks awesome. I hope this has been helpful and enjoy the hike, it is absolutely worth it!
