A Journey to the Edge of Civilization

The allure of the Assy Plateau had been calling my name for quite some time. As a former city planner turned travel writer, I often find myself drawn to the vibrant pulse of urban landscapes. But every now and then, the call of the wild beckons, and I must answer. This time, it was the promise of untouched nature and the chance to explore the mysterious nomadic life that drew me to Batan.

Our adventure began with a convoy of six jeeps, each filled with eager explorers ready to escape the hustle and bustle of city life. The anticipation was palpable as we set out, led by our knowledgeable guides, Gulzat and Yelnar. The journey to the plateau was a thrilling ride, with the rugged terrain adding an element of excitement to the trip. As we ascended, the landscape transformed into a breathtaking panorama of rolling hills and endless horizons.

Upon reaching the plateau, we were greeted by the serene sight of grazing animals and the distant silhouettes of nomadic tents. It was a scene straight out of a storybook, and I couldn’t help but feel a sense of awe at the beauty and simplicity of it all.
