Completed in 1987 and officially opened in 1989, it was built by the Hainanese community in Malaysia and is one of Southeast Asia’s largest temples.
• Little India Brickfields - Brickfields became the center of brick-making in the late 19th century after a fire and flood devastated Kuala Lumpur in 1881. The disasters destroyed the town’s wooden and thatched buildings, prompting Sir Frank Swettenham, the British Resident at the time, to mandate the use of brick and tile in construction, giving the town its purpose.
