Fantastic day! - We had a fantastic day at the Bath Caves and elephant rehabilitation centre. Our guide Faizal was brilliant and answered lots of our questions, including suggestions of where to go and what to see at other times. We paid extra for a guide at the elephant rehabilitation centre and it was very much worth it. Brilliant day, highly recommend!

A fantastic opportunity to meet elephants up close and personal and explore further afield from KL city itself - This trip is a must for elephant lovers or for those interested in taking a trip away from the hustle and bustle of KL city itself. Our guide, Faiser, was highly professional and contacted us via Whats App the evening before our trip to provide details of the time of our hotel pick up. He was prompt and professional and he speaks really good English so conversation flowed on our journey to the elephant sanctuary. Faiser is really passionate and compassionate about elephants and gave us lots of initial insight into the work of the sanctuary and the individual elephants which was really nice to hear prior to arrival. The journey to the sanctuary is about 1.5 hours from the city but it provides a perfect opportunity to see more of the countryside beyond the city. Once deep in the rural countryside you reach the sanctuary and on arrival are offered the opportunity to walk around the sanctuary independently or pay to be guided by a sanctuary ranger. We chose to be guided and this worked well as our ranger had a great relationship with the elephants and they approached him as soon as he called them. If you wish to feed the elephants bananas and bamboo are available to purchase cheaply should you want to do so. During our experience we hand fed adult, juvenile and baby elephants, we also hydrated them with water from bottles. This was a really lovely experience. We watched elephants promenade to the river and bathe and then observed a 20 minute ' show'. In terms of animal welfare it was explained to us that currently there are 25 elephants at the sanctuary and only those animals assessed as being able/ safe/ willing to be engaged in this process are involved and those that are are rotated daily to allow rest and rehabilitation. We were able to feed elephants in open fields, enclosure but there are also elephants that are not exposed to visitors and homed in private fields away from tourism. The 'show' we experienced was short. Attending this kind of venue is always a personal choice but we thoroughly enjoyed it and our guide was professional took some lovely photos and videos for us and made sure we comfortable throughout the trip. Lunch is provided as part of the trip; A meal of chicken and rice. We recommend this trip with a private driver as on our return home we witnessed some tourists trying to get a taxi home with not a lot of success!! A guaranteed ride home is good peace of mind and this trip provides that. On our journey home it started to rain heavily and the highway quickly turned into a river but our guide drove safely to dispatch us to our hotel. An amazing trip supported by a 5 star guide. Thankyou Faiser.

Kuala Gandah Elephant Tour is Amazing! - Getting to spend time feeding the elephants is amazing. Also, if you choose to get the nature guide (only RM 120.00) then you will be given information, history and have all your questioned answered along the way). Also, the guide is the only way you can he taken up close to see the young/baby elephants, so I highly encourage it. They take take the elephants to the river to bathe if the river is at the right levels and this is so cool to see. You can tell how much the elephants enjoy it. It is the perfect day spent in nature with some amazing creatures.

A beautiful day with elephants - Well organized trip and friendly driver. Spent a lot of time watching the elephants playing and having fun in the water. Was able to feed them with sugar cans too. It’s a very nice experience for all animal lovers. Don’t miss it.

Disappointed with... - Disappointed with communication from Viator - was not made clear that additional cash payments was required once at the Elephant Sanctuary to do anything other than just attend and guide wasn’t available. Sanctuary staff were VERY. good - they could see our disappointment and worked a way around the problem.

Wonderful experience of elephants 🙂 - The best part of the tour for us were the elephants and being able to feed and interact with them! 😊😊 Batu caves were quite spectacular and worth the climb!

Disappointing. - After all the positive reviews we booked this pricey trip. We found it disappointing. It's nothing more than a taxi driver. We were picked up at the hotel and taken to the batu caves, where we were dropped off and we agreed that he would pick us up again in half an hour. Then we drove on to the elephant sanctuary, again we were dropped off and if we wanted a Guide what is actually needed to get close to the elephants then you have to pay extra for that. There were several people at that time who wanted that so you can share the costs but also. Lunch is included, this is rice with a piece of chicken and a bottle of water. The Guide at the elephant sanctuary is recommended by the way, our Guide was also very nice and has also done this with great enthusiasm. Then we were taken back to our hotel. All in all we could have just arranged this with grab / another tour for example that is really a lot cheaper. We were really under the impression that this would be something more like a taxi driver. We would not recommend this trip, waste of your money.
