• National Monument - The National Monument was built to honor those who sacrificed their lives for peace and freedom, particularly during the nation’s struggle against communism. The grounds feature one of the world’s largest free-standing bronze sculptures, created in 1966 by Felix de Weldon, who also sculpted the famous Iwo Jima monument in Washington DC.
• Istana Negara - Istana Negara, or the National Palace, is the official residence of the King of Malaysia. This majestic building, located on Jalan Duta, became the National Palace in November 2011, replacing the old palace on Jalan Istana. It features 22 domes, with the largest dome reaching a height of 40 meters. Note: Visits are limited to the exterior.
• Petronas Twin Towers - Standing at 451.9 meters, the Petronas Twin Towers are a world-renowned symbol of modern Malaysia. They are the centerpiece of the Kuala Lumpur city centre (KLCC) development, which includes landmarks such as the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, Suria KLCC shopping mall, luxury hotels, a mosque, and the beautifully landscaped KLCC Park. • Sri Maha Mariamman Temple - Founded in 1873, Sri Mahamariamman Temple is the oldest Hindu temple in Kuala Lumpur. Located at the edge of Chinatown on Jalan Bandar (formerly High Street), a new structure featuring the ornate ‘Raja Gopuram’ tower in the style of South Indian temples was built in 1968.
• Thean Hou Temple - Thean Hou Temple is a six-tiered temple dedicated to the Chinese sea goddess Mazu, located in Kuala Lumpur. Situated on 1.67 acres atop Robson Heights on Lorong Bellamy, it overlooks Jalan Syed Putra. Completed in 1987 and officially opened in 1989, the temple was built by Hainanese residents in Malaysia and is one of the largest temples in Southeast Asia.
• Little India Brickfields - Brickfields began as the center of brick-making in the late 19th century after a fire and flood devastated Kuala Lumpur in 1881. The disasters destroyed the town’s wooden and thatched structures, prompting British Resident Sir Frank Swettenham to mandate the use of brick and tile in construction, giving the town its purpose.
• The River of Life - The River of Life is a notable attraction in Kuala Lumpur, located near the Masjid Jamek Sultan Abdul Samad, the city’s oldest mosque. It is the convergence point of the Klang River and the Gombak River.
• Malayan Railway Administration Building - One of Malaysia’s most beautiful old buildings, the Railway Station and Administration Building is a stunning example of Moorish architecture.

This historic site is where the Union Flag was lowered, and the Malayan flag was raised for the first time at midnight on August 31, 1957.
