Cairo to Bahariya

Bahariya Oasis Guide - A Sun Pyramids Tours representative will collect guests from their Cairo hotel at 6:00 AM, then transport them from Cairo or Giza in a modern, air-conditioned vehicle to Bahariya, a 365 km journey taking approximately 4 hours.

The Golden Mummies Hall - Upon arrival in Bahariya, guests will visit the Golden Mummies Museum, which dates back to the Graeco-Roman period.

Tombs of the Nobles - The tour continues to the Tombs of the Nobles, Ain Mefettella, and the Alexander Temples.

White Desert - Later, guests will visit the ruins on a hill known as “the English House” at sunset, enjoying a panoramic view of the Oasis. Overnight stay in Bahariya.

Bahariya–Gara Cave (also called Djara Cave)

Gara Cave – Aqabat

Valley of Agabat - After breakfast, guests will explore the Gara Cave (also known as Djara Cave), a natural formation created by rain in the Eocene limestone (55 million years ago). The water dissolved the limestone, forming stunning stalactites and stalagmites. Prehistoric people likely inhabited the cave during the late Neolithic period, as evidenced by artifacts and rock art found there. The tour then transfers to Aqabat, a drive of about 150 km, followed by overnight camping in the desert.

Ain Khudra

White Desert - Guests will then enjoy the White Desert, renowned as one of the world’s most beautiful locations. The area is covered in gleaming white limestone, creating remarkable rock formations in the sand, which gives the desert its name. Overnight camping is included.

Bahariya-Cairo

Black Desert - After breakfast, guests will visit Crystal Mountain and the Black Mountains. Upon returning to Bahariya, they will have the opportunity to shower before heading back to Cairo, a journey of approximately 4 hours.

Guests are kindly requested to provide a soft copy of their passports at least 24 hours before their travel date to facilitate the issuance of necessary licenses for the Desert tour.

For your information, the hotel features an unused open backyard area with a pool that has been out of service since 2004, following directives from the Egyptian government. Therefore, this space should not be considered part of the hotel’s amenities.
