Cairo to the White Desert

White Desert, Egypt - Early in the morning, you’ll be picked up from your hotel in Giza or Cairo and driven to Bahariya Oasis, located about 350 km east of Cairo. The journey takes approximately 4 hours, with stops along the way for restrooms and coffee.
Upon arrival, you’ll switch to a 4x4 Jeep and head to the Black Desert.

Crystal Mountain, Egypt - At 13:00, you’ll proceed to Crystal Mountain, locally known as Gebel al-Izzaz. This crystal hill, often referred to as the Jewel of the Desert, is formed by quartzite crystals and looks stunning in the sunlight. It was discovered by accident a few decades ago.

Valley of Agabat - At 16:00, you’ll drive to the Valley of Agabat, located deep within the White Desert. The area’s otherworldly beauty is best experienced in person. Millions of years ago, it was underwater, and over time, unique rock formations of limestone, chalk, and possibly sand developed. As the sky turns pink and then a deep fiery orange, the rock shapes fade into the silence. Sitting around a small fire, you’ll enjoy a simple meal of chicken, rice, and vegetables, which will taste exceptionally good. Bedouin staff will arrange dinner and desert camping.

Black Desert - The Black Desert is a region of volcano-shaped and widely spaced mounds, stretching about 30 km in western Egypt between the White Desert in the south and the Bahariya Oasis in the north. Most of these mounds are capped by basalt sills, giving them their characteristic black color.

Bahariya Oasis - After enjoying breakfast in the desert, you’ll start driving to Bahariya Oasis. Savor the desert silence during breakfast before taking your 4×4 back to Bahariya.

Cairo - Here, you’ll reconvene with your original private vehicle and return to Cairo, where your trip will conclude with a drop-off at the original starting point around 5 pm.
