Great time experiencing nature - Our experience was great! Fabian was most helpful and informative. The sloth’s, monkeys and birds were all neat to see and experience with. Snorkeling was beautiful, they were very patient with first-timers. Brady’s Cay at the end was just ok. We left right away due to having all you can eat and drink free back on the boat.

Excellent guide, can tweak tour for your interests - We booked this tour during a bruise stop in November 2024. Tour was executed by Keylie from Roatan Breakaway Tours. For people with language concerns - her English was excellent. We had a very good time with 3 stops and returned to port within our requested timeframe.
Keylie met us just outside the security area. Finding her was easy - the tour guides inside the security area told us where to go (in a friendly manner) to exit the security area, no pressure to try to get our business (so unlike our port stops un Mexico!)
Keylie drive us in her recent model car to first visit the sloths and capuchins. This was done at the new location of Daniel Johnson’s Monkey and Sloth Hang Out (reviewed separately)
Once we arrived, Keylie checked us in and accompanied us until our group was called. Apparently she is very well liked by the staff and other guides as several people approached her for hugs and to talk. This speaks well to her great personality.
After our time with the critters ended, we were driven to the original location of Daniel Johnson’s, where Keylie again checked us in for the snorkel and beach break portion. We exchanged WhatsApp contact info so we could let her know when we wanted to leave.
She hung out with us until the boat arrived to go out snorkeling (separate review).
As we boarded the boat to come back from the beach island, I contacted Keylie and she was waiting for us at the dock.
Since we had a couple hours until we needed to be back in port, we had a driving tour of the area, a but of a history lesson, and discussed life on the island. Great information!
We had a bite to eat & drinks on the island, so decided against stopping to eat locally. We ssked to see their markets and ended up at a grocery where Keylie discussed several local foods and helped us pick out some interesting local goodies to bring home.
Returned to port on a different route to see more of the island.
Safe driver, good conversationalist, pleasant personality - if you book this tour, i recommend asking for Keylie!

Incredible experience, so worth it! - We came in on a cruise ship and were looking for a fun excursion for the day. We decided to book outside of the cruise line and with this local company, and I am so happy we did! Our driver David was very professional and personable. It was nice to have a “private” tour with just my boyfriend and I. David took us to the sloth and monkey sanctuary which ended up being the highlight of our trip! I won’t spoil it for you :) next up, we went snorkeling. The staff on the boat were so helpful and assured everyone was safe in the water. There was a family with two small children and one of the young men on the boat took extra time and care into snorkeling with the children. They were so great with the kids! Lastly, we were able to experience a beautiful beach with crystal clear blue waters before we headed back to the ship.
David made sure we finished up with plenty of time to make it back to the ship. During our many conversations we found out that David is a new NFL fan, and of course - a chiefs fan (boooo). As a loyal Buffalo Bills fan following their win over the chiefs last Sunday, I just wanted to say that David, it’s not too late to become a Bills fan!
Thanks for the great time!!

Highly recommend - This was a great excursion. I highly recommend it. We were only able to snorkel in one area but that was due to weather.

Making the best...Stormy weather accommodations - When unsuspected weather hits, you never know what will happen...especially when travelling abroad. We must report that this tour group not only delivered, but excelled in making g a wonderful experience for us. Tropical storm Sara was coming, so even though we really wanted to see the beautiful coral barrier reef, we just could not safely. The sloths and capuchin monkeys were awesome. Very clean environment with covered waiting areas. Our driver Keylie was wonderful. She first tried to get us other options that we could still see the reef but weather was not helping to do it safely. So we said we love to see local and buy local. She gave us a wonderful tour of local foods and drinks at the local supermarket and then a place to buy some locally made gifts. Thanks Keylie for all your hard work salvaging our Excursion. Also thanks to the owner Leshan for giving us prompt responses to help us decide which excursion to chose. We paid a little more than some other options but we think they were well worth it and you get what you pay for. Also want to mention that we had a person with a rollator and we told them in advance so they could accommodate. Thank you so much!!!

Don’t miss this experience - Cassie was an excellent driver and went the extra mile to make the day extra special. She took us to an authentic restaurant that was wonderful and told us about the country. The snorkeling was all about snorkeling not a booze and snorkel, so bring your own water. It is very close to the beach so not a long boat ride. It is a drift snorkel and very easy. Lots of different types of fish. My favorite part was the sloths, monkeys and macaws. The monkeys are crazy and jump all over. The sloths are so lovable and the macaws are beautiful and you get to hold all of them.

A Day in Roatan - We really enjoyed this tour. Our wonderful driver, Mr Robert, took excellent care of us & shared local history throughout our time together. The Sloth & Monkey sanctuary is brand new & really amazing. Holding a sloth was truly incredible. The snorkel part of our tour was just beautiful & our guide was kind, knowledgeable & helpful. Would highly recommend this tour.

Amazing family friendly wildlife encounters and ocean experiences! - We were traveling with our 3 kids, ages 8-13 and this experience was a thrill for everyone! We followed the walking directions to find our guide at the cruise port exit. It was just up and over a hill beyond the main taxi lot. Our driver Alfred was great and had a vehicle the right size for 5 passengers. He delivered us safely and punctually to each activity and picked us up at our requested time to return to the cruise ship on time. The interactions with the animals lived up to our expectations with the cuddly sloth, mischevious monkeys and macaws. The guide at the animal sanctuary was fantastic, and especially patient with a younger child who was a bit apprehensive with the animals, at first, but succeeded in touching and holding them all. The snorkeling tour was also excellent, although some leaky goggle issues. It would be nice to test out the equipment beforehand, or maybe bring your own if you have it. They did have lifejackets and snorkel gear in kid sizes, and there was a lifeguard/guide with us in the water the whole time, towing a life preserver ring for those who needed a short breather. The beach break was very relaxing and pleasant, and a beautiful location at Brady‘s Caye. The cabana bar served a delicious ceviche, highly recommend! They also had chicken fingers and standard fare, for a reasonable price..The only criticism here was quite a lot of plastic and garbage floating in the water at the beach. This was disappointing, and we did not see any cleaning efforts being made by Staff to tidy up the swimming area. Hopefully this can be improved. In spite of this, we did some additional snorkeling with our own equipment, right there at the beach and saw many colorful fish in protected waters. We did this excursion as part of a Norwegian cruise, and it was much more affordable for our family of five. We had no problem getting back to the port with plenty of time to spare for souvenir shopping.
