Awesome and Flexible - Absolutely perfect. Our guide Leon superb! He accommodated our special requests and gave us marvelous information. The snorkeling was also well done, especially since we didn't waste time with instructions and rules other than those we needed. GREAT beach and food options, too. If I could give this more than 5 stars, I would. One caveat: the meeting place outside ship is a bit of a challenge for those of us out of shape or older. We took a cab for 4 dollars to get up the hill. Not a problem, and on the return drivers are permitted to get you much closer to ship. Wish we could do this one again. Thanks, Leon!

Loved this tour!! - This was such an easy, wonderful tour! Our guide Alfred was awesome. We beat the crowds, and had lunch on a private island that was not super crowded. They made the arrangements, we just had to show up!

My family loved it, something for everyone - We walked to meeting point to meet our driver Angel. He was extremely nice and made us all feel welcome. He took us safely to the animals park and walked us up to the entrance and assured us he'd be there and to take our time. The sloths we super adorable and we very friendly and our girls, twin 10 year olds and a seventeen year old daughter too, were in love. We entered the capuchin enclosure and monkeys were checking everyone's pockets, pouches, hair as they ran around and jumped from head to shoulders to chest of any and everybody. The monkeys did favor taller people, people with pockets, long hair and lastly per the guide.....sweaty people. To be sure the shorter people/kids got "monkey time", they would put some sunflower seeds in your hair. It was everybody's favorite animal encounter. They showed us some night lemurs or night monkey....I think. Lastly, we went into the macaw enclosure and the guides did the same for the green and red macaw for all the people, short and tall. From there we went to the snorkeling place. We purchased some shirts, snacks and drinks as we waited for some other groups to join. We left to go to the barrier reef to see the drop off but with wind chop and current and the makeup of our group, we as a group looked at the area and decided to go inside the barrier reef which had less current and waves. The guides snorkel covered about 200+ yards but the current was going with us so the swimming was easy. The depth was 4 to 6 feet and the current helped you along. They showed us really cool things: sea fans, corals, anemones, lionfish, cuttlefish, brittle stars, purple/black sea urchins and the nicer white urchins. They then took us to an island, maybe French Key??, we relaxed for maybe 1.5 to 2 hours. They told us when we're done, to take the ferry to the mainland. During that time, we snorkeled and we seen more of the same, are conch ceviche and took pictures on the sea swings. Again Angel told us he'd be waiting at the ferry's landing and if too much time passes he'd come over. We met him at the ferry as we was coming to check on us. He kept us on time because there was a difference between ship time and island time. We told him when we'd like to get back to port and Angel was awesome, courteous and mindful in guiding us. During our drive back to port and all day, Angel kept us engaged by talking to us all about his life on the island, his family and answering any and all of our questions. He was a great guide, an understanding and patient conversationalist, and a kind person (he donated money to a charity for someone needing medical care while explaining how he may need help with the same later in life and explained his missionary work he and his family does on the mainland) which he showed in his words and actions. Overall, we loved it and we all enjoyed the adventure, Angel and the island! We'd highly recommend this especially if your lucky enough to get Angel as a guide.

Making the most of roatan - Wanting to get away from the crowded snorkeling tours, we elected to go with Roatan shore excursion company. And it was a wonderful day. They picked us up promptly at the cruise port and off we went for the first adventure of the day, which was a visit to a small Animal rescue, AJ’s. There we were able to hold a sloth, play with the monkeys and have a parrot sit on our hats. From there, we were dropped off for our snorkeling tour, which turned out to be just the four of us and our snorkel guide. Knowing that one of the best reefs lay along the shores of Roatan, we were excited to float in the water and snorkel for about an hour with our guide. Not quite the colorful coral we were expecting, but very beautiful and lush and with a wide variety of colorful fish swimming about. The last stop on this day was a visit to a private beach. There we sat on a sandy beach with a view of beautiful blue waters on a comfortable chair with a nice selection of food and drink. What a lovely way to spend the afternoon. On the way back to our cruise boat, our tour guide was accommodating and stopped at a ATM where he helped us get cash. From start to finish, it was a magical day, far from the maddening crowd.

Barney was knowledgeable... - Barney was knowledgeable and kind and told many stories about his life on Roatan. We learned a lot about the island, got to hold sloths and monkeys and then he took us to the pier to catch the boat out to snorkel with some very good guides. We saw a 6 foot eagle ray and many colorful fish and the reef is in great shape and beautiful to see. We ended the day at Brady's Cay Beach and swam and relaxed for a while before heading back to the ship.

Pick up was not easy. No... - Pick up was not easy. No Viator person waiting outside the ship area. There was an independent person who picked our group up but the whole process was confusing. However our driver Omar was excellent and took great care of us. Also, the local Viator customer service wasn’t very helpful and borderline rude.
The sloth, monkey and bird sanctuary was very enjoyable. Also our 2-man crew on our snorkeling adventure were superb and got us in a great spot for viewing the reefs and sea life. We had a great time with them. The beach luncheon was okay, small rocky beach area. The food was not edible but there was plenty of cold beer. Omar was back to pick us up on time and make sure we made it safely back to our ship. Based on 2 out of 3 events being outstanding I likely would recommend just bring your own food or a snack.

Book Separate Trips - Don’t do this trip for the snorkeling! The snorkel area is probably the worst area of a small edge of the Meso American reef. The snorkel time was probably under an hour. And then they drop you off on little French key to have beach time. We drank Monkey LaLa’s on the beach and then paid our driver Omar (who was great) to take us to the west end to experience more of the island. This excursion could be so much better for the price. We would not do it again.

would have been great! - the weather prohibited us for experiencing our activity. we did not get to do the snorkeling which was the greatest part of the expense for the excursion....no refund...(not their fault!)
