Highlights
  • Pointe du Hoc - Situated between the American sectors of Utah and Omaha, this key stronghold was stormed by the formidable 2nd Ranger Battalion US just minutes before the main landings on the beaches. The site has been preserved as it was when the troops left, leaving visitors in awe as their guide recounts, for instance, the experience of a bombardment during D-DAY.

  • Omaha Beach - Omaha Beach, in the American sector, saw the landing of the 1st and 29th American Infantry Divisions on June 6, 1944. It would later be known as “Bloody Omaha,” and the guide accompanying you will detail the experiences of these soldiers to help you feel the profound emotions that this beach evokes.

  • Cimetiere Americain de Colleville-sur-Mer - An iconic site of the D-Day beaches, this cemetery overlooks Omaha Beach and is deeply symbolic. Overwhelmed with emotion, you will learn about every aspect of this memorial site with your guide.

  • Batterie Allemande de Longues-Sure-Mer - A German fortification in the British sector of Gold Beach, this is a symbol of the infamous Atlantic Wall. Here, you will understand the workings of a German battery and see the original cannons.

  • Vestiges du Port de Mulberry - Normandy is one of the regions with the highest tides in the world. During the Battle of Normandy, logistics could have been jeopardized if not for the British engineering feat of constructing floating harbors known as Mulberry. Only by seeing it can one grasp the immense significance it had in the outcome of the D-Day story.

Excellent half day tour - This is a fantastic tour, given by people who are extremely passionate about the history of the area and especially the WWII era. Amandine was our tour guide, and we were astounded at her vast knowledge of the subject matter. She took us to several sites, gave us time to snoop around and take pictures, and filled us in on every aspect of what took place at the sites we were looking at. When she is not guiding tours, she is volunteering at local tourism bureaus and special events pertaining to WWI and WWII history. This is a lady who knows her stuff and wants to share this knowledge of her homeland and heritage. You will come away from this tour enriched with new knowledge. We were there with grandparents and kids ages 11 and 13, and everyone enjoyed the tour, and the chauffered drive around the French countryside.

D Day remembered - Vincent was a spectacular tour guide. Our jeeep tour took us down paths not wide enough for a car. We stood on the spot where the June 6th invasion began. Traveled to Omaha and Gold beaches as well as other spots. Invents in-depth, detailed narrative was over the top comprehensive.
