Highlights
  • Bayeux - Your Gentleman sider (Guide/driver) will meet you with his retro sidecar at the pick-up location chosen by you, or at the Bayeux tourist office, or at the Bayeux bus station.

He will help you equip yourself with helmets, gloves and retro glasses, to finally settle in.

There will of course be stops along the way to take breaks and take pictures.

  • Arromanches-les-Bains - Your pilot will take you to Arromanches-les-Bains.
It was on this beach that, during the Battle of Normandy, immediately after D-Day on June 6, 1944, the Allies established Port Mulberry B, a temporary artificial port to allow the landing of heavy equipment, without waiting for the conquest. deep-water ports, such as those of Le Havre or Cherbourg (Cherbourg-en-Cotentin since 2016). Although located in the center of the Gold Beach landing zone, Arromanches was spared the bulk of the fighting on D-Day. In order to allow the installation of a port and its proper functioning as quickly as possible, it was not necessary to degrade the beach and preserve the surrounding communication routes. The English troops therefore landed further east, between Asnelles and Ver-sur-mer, and liberated Arromanches by land on the evening of June 6. The port was therefore put into service on June 14.
  • Longues-sur-Mer - The Longues-sur-Mer battery is one of the Atlantic Wall’s range of firing batteries, located on the coastal town of Longues-sur-Mer in Calvados. The site consisted of four 150-mm long-range marine guns, each protected by a reinforced concrete pillbox, and various facilities for serving and defending them. Located in the Allied landing zone in Normandy, between the beaches of Omaha Beach and Gold Beach, the battery was subjected to intense aerial and naval bombardment preventing it from fully entering into action on D-Day and was taken as soon as possible. the next day by British troops. Listed as a Historic Monument, it is in a good state of conservation. The site is landscaped and has become a frequent crossing point during visits to the landing sites.
  • Port-en-Bessin-Huppain - Note: This step can be excluded if your guide feels there is not enough time.
Liberated on June 8, 1944 by the 47th Royal Marines Commando, during Operation Overlord, Port-en-Bessin became the network head of a pipeline system of approximately 120 km intended to supply the Allied armies on June 16. in fuel. At the end of August 1944, this system was completed by Operation PLUTO, which saw the laying of oil pipelines between the Isle of Wight and Querqueville near Cherbourg.
  • Omaha Beach - Note: This step can be excluded if your guide feels there is not enough time.

Omaha Beach remains one of the most iconic D-Day landing sites, holding undeniable historical significance. You’ll stand here on the same sands where thousands of American troops bravely landed amid intense gunfire and artillery barrage. Your guide will give you a moving account of the challenges the soldiers faced during this fierce battle. As you walk the beach, take a moment to pay your respects at the memorials and reflect on the bravery and sacrifice of those who fought here.

  • Normandy American Cemetery - The Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial, perched on a cliff overlooking Omaha Beach, is a poignant and deeply moving tribute to fallen soldiers. As you wander among the rows of white marble crosses and Stars of David, you will be imbued with a deep sense of gratitude and respect for those who sacrificed their lives for freedom. Your guide will share stories about the individuals resting here and offer illuminating perspectives on the significant impact their sacrifices had on the course of history.
  • Bayeux - On our return, a stop in Bayeux will reveal the medieval charms of this city, magnified by the impressive cathedral dating from the 11th century. This Gothic masterpiece is a fascinating witness to the region’s rich history. Take time to admire the picturesque streets of Bayeux, lined with half-timbered houses, providing a captivating snapshot of its timeless beauty as our adventure draws to a close.

Excellent gold and Omaha beacheads - The trip was excellent. Saw Omaha and gold beaches with the bunkers and guns still intact in some. The guides were very informative and loved the trip in the sidecars. It was just a great trip and well worth going.

Book this wonderful tour!! - What a wonderful tour! We had four motorcycles + side cars for a seven person tour - ages 15 to 70. Everyone had an absolute blast. The guides were extremely friendly, attentive to our safety and comfort (it was a little chilly that day!), and proud of their beautiful region. They are also extremely knowledgeable. We learned so much about the Normandy invasion, including stories that we had never heard of before. Cannot recommend highly enough!

One of the best tours in Normandy - I highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to see Normandy in the most unique and fun way! Our tour guide was knowledgeable about the sites we were visiting and made it fun for the whole group. We visited during the D-Day celebrations and parades, and this was hands-down, the best way to get around and see the things we were wanting to see. Tim was a fantastic pilot, was very kind and drove us around safely.

Memories for a lifetime. Fantastic experience and worth the money. - This was the most amazing experience. 10/10 recommend. Phillip was extremely knowledgeable, had great English, and was fun to spend time with. We did the 3.5-hour trip and enjoyed every second of it. My partner and I were smiling like children the entire time. We will be back for this at some point in our lifetime.. If you’re worried about the price — don’t, it is so worth it. Riding on a vintage style motorcycle through Normandy was like a dream and is a once in a lifetime opportunity.

A Bucket List Must Do! - Highly recommend the tour of Normandy. Phillip was patiently waiting for us outside the cafe across from the Bayeux Railway Station. Phillip was a very cheerful and expert driver of the motorcycle sidecar. It was quite the experience! Make sure you take a jacket! Lucky Phillip had a spare one for myself. We went on 5th June which was great because of all the ceremony preparations for the 80th D Day anniversary. With all the reenactment soldiers and vehicles and planes overhead we felt like we were actually back in 1944. Sadly though, there were heavy restrictions on where we could actually go. Nevertheless it was still a very moving experience that words cannot express. Phillips knowledge of the area is very extensive and we thoroughly enjoyed the tour.

Great way to see Normandy. - Remy was a fantastic tour guide. Super friendly and knowledgeable. He was able to pivot for us because of the DDay anniversary celebrations and still show us key areas of Normandy avoiding traffic as much as possible. Highly recommend. **do not wear a dress; dress in layers. It was a little chilly, but not too bad in early June.

Too many people, too many vehicles - The traffic was awful causing us to sit on the side of the road and wait till the police moved someone or our guide Remy pushed the motorcycle through small holes in the traffic to get us to the cliffs of the British landing.Remy said we were going back to the hotel to drop off my wife due to it being so cold and asked if I wanted to try again but I saw no reason to do that cause traffic and the amount of people would have made it impossible to get to the American cemetery or the landings on Utah or Omaha beach.our guide Remy was great though
