Lovely up close and personal tour - This was a fabulous experience and Mattia was an awesome tour guide. Each of the properties were welcoming and provided a lovely tasting experience. We learned so much from Mattia and saw first hand the work that goes into these products. Best tour ever.

"You pay for what you get" and this was worth the money. The best vacation tour we have ever taken. - We were only in Bologna for a short time and we wanted to see some of the surrounding countryside. We hesitated to book this tour because of the cost, but in the end we were SO GLAD we did. Enzo (driver) and Nicoletta (Guide) picked us up from our hotel. Nicoletta, was the best tour guide we have ever had. She knew everything about the three facilities we saw. Nicoletta also lived in the area and was from Bologna so she had a tremendous amount of information, history, and passion for the area and the craft. The three facilities we toured were perfect. All small family-run operations. We were most surprised by the balsamic vinegar process, but all three were equally interesting. Both my wife and I highly recommend this tour. The half-day format is perfect.

Gastronomic extravaganza! - All three production houses were very enjoyable. The processes involved, although simple, produced amazing products, and the tastings at the end were memorable. We learnt so, so much more about the cheese, prosciutto and Balsamic Vinegar of Modena. There's no going back to anything else now!

Great tour and tour guide - The tour guide was on time, thorough, well-informed and very flexible. The tour was well designed and we saw a lot in 4-5 hours. The driver and vehicle were of high quality, and the vehicle was a newer model Mercedes van. Recommend this to anyone going to Bologna.

More than just ham and cheese - Nicoletta (guide) and Christian (driver) took great care of us and showed us a part of Italy that most tourists don't get to see. We loved seeing the production process for all of these foods, and getting to taste them was even better.

A delightful, local food focused day! - Stella is friendly and extremely knowledgeable. She made this tour for us. It was a treat to go to some off the beaten path spots and taste local products.

Perfecto! - Marco is amazing. So much knowledge of how these great products are made, the history and the artisans that make them. This was possibly the highlight of our trip so far

The best prosciutto ever! - A great tour to see the big 3 being made - Parmesan, prosciutto and balsamic. The best prosciutto we’ve ever eaten - melt in the mouth. A good length of tour and would recommend doing this tour.

A rethink is needed for this tour - We had a great time on this tour. Nicoletta was passionate and knowledgeable about the products we viewed and the small producers that are so dedicated to producing the highest quality beautiful prosciutto, parmigiano-reggiano and Balsamic vinegar. The vinegar was a highlight because it's so ubiquitous until you try the real thing and understand the qualities of each batch and the years it takes to produce. I have eaten prosciutto of all qualities throughout my life and the Prosciutto de Modena was one of the absolute best for flavour and tenderness. We can't get it in Australia so the flavour will stay with me until next time! Seeing how the Parmigiano is made was amazing and so dedicated 😍 I gave 4 stars because I think that for the price a visit to a winery should be included... we ate a small amount of prosciutto, cheese and who eats vinegar? We paid a lot of money for this experience and came away hungry and feeling that the value wasn't really there. But this wasn't a reflection on the tour guides who were wonderful and we appreciated their dedication to our tour. Lunch should have been included and a winery ...this is not a cheap tour? as we have just completed a walking food tour of Bologna and had so much to eat for a fifth of the price.
