Amazing experience even in 40mph winds! - This was my ‘must do’ activity whilst visiting Northumberland and it looks like the weather was against us with rain and high winds forecast. Ray was happy for the tour to go ahead as long as the rain passed which it did. And what an experience it was. I was welcomed into the group of 7 walkers being the only solo person booked on. The weather conditions made it tough and slow going in places. Ray did his utmost to tell his stories as we went but had to finish some when we reached the island. I opted to wear my walking shoes due to the cold weather but they did get conpletely soaked at the final section when we had to go through calf height water. The walk was rated easy on the booking page but as someone who regularly walks over 20k steps a day I would say this rating is entirely dependent on the conditions on the day. Thanks Ray for a memorable experience.

Historic and enlightening tour - The walk across the tidal plains to Holy Island, Lindisfarne is rewarding, informative and an experience to be treasured. Ray our pilgrim guide was encouraging as to the challenge, knowledgeable in the storied history and passionate of this famous place of Christianity. His stories of St Aiden and St Cuthbert, were inspiring and educational. Not to mention the plethora of Kings or rogues as Ray would described that are so influential in Northumberland. An excellent tour.

Enjoyable and informative tour - Really interesting, informative, and relaxed walking tour. Ray was a great guide and gave our group an informative talk on the history of the area. It was a very enjoyable 4 hours walking across the causeway and learning the local history in what was a windy but sunny afternoon. Definitely recommend.

Very special walk - A very special experience, so glad we did this. We wouldn’t have had the confidence to try this without a guide. Ray was great, full of knowledge about the history of the area and very happy to accommodate kids and dogs. Well worth the cost.

Evening walk to Lindisfarne. - We had a great evening walking across the path to Holy Island. Great meeting place, with good food if you wish to eat before the walk. The walk is wet across the sand as described. We did it barefoot and are glad we decided to as this added to the experience. We heard and saw in the distance hundreds of seals barking as we crossed! Lindisfarne is lovely - pretty and peaceful, we saw rabbits playing in a field with beautifully preserved ruins of the Abbey. There are three pubs to choose from to enjoy drinks if you wish, they do sell food but time spent here is only around an hour. Thank you to Ray (our guide), we thoroughly enjoyed it!
