A Journey Through Burgundy’s Vineyards

The morning sun cast a golden hue over the rolling hills of Beaune as I embarked on a journey that promised to be as enlightening as it was indulgent. The Burgundy Bike Tour was a siren call to my senses, a chance to immerse myself in the heart of one of France’s most revered wine regions. With Valentine as our guide, a small group of us set off, eager to explore the secrets of Burgundy’s vineyards.

Our adventure began with a gentle ride to the top of a cliff overlooking the Côte de Beaune. Valentine, with her wealth of knowledge, painted a vivid picture of the region’s history and geography, explaining the intricate meanings behind the terms region, village, and cru. Our final tasting was in Pommard, a fitting end to a day filled with discovery and delight. As we cycled the last 4 kilometers back to Beaune, I reflected on the day’s experiences. The 30 kilometers we had covered were a tapestry of sights, sounds, and flavors, each one more enchanting than the last.
