Whether you have felt the desert’s call or perhaps you’re about to, Red Canyon welcomes you with a 4-hour adventure trail that fuses hiking and a jeep safari. The majestic and awe-inspiring Red Canyon has whisperings of its beauty echoing across the arid desert landscape, bearing witness to nature’s own artistry on the sandstone rocks.
Our journey commences with a brief 20-minute drive along route 12 to the Canyon’s opening, followed by a guided tour into the heart of the Canyon. From there we proceed along the former patrol route up to the summits of Eilat’s mountain range, commanding views of the sweeping Arava plains and the Red mountains in Jordan. The adventure continues with a descent to Ein Netafim, the solitary water source in the region.
We culminate the day at Mount Yoash’s four-nation viewpoint (elevated at 725 meters), from where the setting sun can be observed descending gently over the Red Sea before we head back towards Eilat.
This can be a personal or a family trip that is a moderately challenging walk under the guidance of a tour guide.
