Jinshanling Great Wall

Jinshanling Great Wall - Begin your journey from your hotel lobby in downtown Beijing around 7:00 am. Your hotel must be within the 2nd ring road of Beijing. After a 2-hour drive, start your 2.5-hour hike on the eastern section of the Jinshanling Great Wall at 10:00 am. This hike offers numerous photo opportunities of the surrounding foliage, architecture, and towers. Originally, a section of this wall was built during the Northern Qi Dynasty. It features a complete defensive system, including barrier walls, battlement walls, watchtowers, gun emplacements, horse-blocking walls, and branch cities. After being damaged by wars, a major restoration project was undertaken during the Ming Dynasty after Emperor Zhudi moved his capital from Nanjing to Beijing. The wall later underwent an 18-year reconstruction starting in 1580, led by Qi Jiguang, a Chinese military general during the late Ming Dynasty. After the hike, return to your hotel.

Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven, and Summer Palace

Forbidden City-The Palace Museum - Please note: Due to strict visitor limits at the Forbidden City, if we are unable to secure tickets, we will visit Jingshan Park instead.

You will be picked up from your centrally located hotel within the 2nd ring road of Beijing around 7:00 am. The group tour begins with the Forbidden City, the largest and most impressive imperial palace complex in the world since the 15th century. This former Chinese imperial palace from the Ming to the end of the Qing dynasty now houses the Palace Museum. Your guide will lead you along the central line from south to north.

Temple of Heaven - Next, visit a Chinese medicine center to experience ancient Chinese traditional medicine culture, followed by a visit to the Temple of Heaven. This complex was visited by the Emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties for annual ceremonies of prayer to Heaven for a good harvest. It is regarded as a Taoist temple where the emperors prayed for a good harvest and peace for the local farmers during the Ming and Qing dynasties.

Summer Palace (Yiheyuan) - After enjoying a delicious Chinese lunch at a local restaurant, take a short visit to a pearl gallery to learn about pearl culture. Then, visit the Summer Palace, the most famous Chinese imperial garden from the Qing dynasty. Finally, you will be transferred back to your hotel. Please note that the group tour bus and guide can only pick up clients staying in hotels within the 2nd ring road of Beijing.
