Magnificient experience - First about the booking process -> flawless as always with Viator, our QR codes for the museum entrance (incl. Tiananmen) were delivered on time before our visit and there have been no problems at all with gaining entrance to both Tiananmen and then the museum. They didn't even check the QR code as our tickets were linked with our passports and a passport scan was sufficient - very convenient and efficient (a procedure common with many sights). That it has been possible at all to acquire 2 tickets for a visit during the golden week is outstanding and I am thankful for that (appart from another two foreigners we saw / met only local people in the museum). The museum itself is simply awesome - huge (you have to actually be there and experience it, a description can't propery reflect it), well organised / structured, great and very interesting + beuautiful exhibits, nice souvenir shops and helpful staff. There are some areas to have a snack and drink as well as machines (Alipay / WeChat Pay). We have stayed there the whole day from the morning until they closed and could well have used another two hours. All in all a great and both fun and educational experience - anyone with even the slightest interst in museums in general or Chinese history should not miss this place.

Good way to see National Museum of China - This booking service is pricey considering there is no guided tour aspect-- this is just to get a ticket. However, as a foreigner it is nearly impossible to book the free tickets to the National Museum of China-- I tried on WeChat and was never able to do it. This service worked seamlessly and also includes the special exhibition, which would be a paid additional ticket if you made the booking yourself. The tour operator provided an emailed QR code to access the museum which I had no trouble using.

A good experience - Price is very steep - After several attempts at booking admission to the National Museum of China using the WeChat Mini Program, I had given up. As I am not proficient in Chinese, this booking service overcame the difficulties I had in booking admission to the National Museum. Considering that admission to both the National Museum and Tiananmen Square is free of charge if you are competent in Chinese and can secure tickets using WeChat, the fee charged at the time of booking was very steep and probably at the absolute limit of what I would have been prepared to pay to visit these sites. However, I would also state that the fee includes a special exhibition, which is chargeable. The National Museum is well worth a visit and I spent several hours in the museum. There are over 40 exhibitions over several floors. A few days before the visit, I received a message with a QR code attached. This QR code acted as my ticket into the museum when presented with my passport. I was able to get into the museum quickly with security staff taking a quick look at the QR code and my passport, followed by airport style security screening. In this regard, the booking service is a very good service if you are not proficient enough in Chinese to use the WeChat Mini Program and you think the price is right.

Scam. Terrible experience and couldn’t use the tickets. - Do not book with this tour company. I had to remind them to pre-book our tickets the day before and when it was sent through, they did not confirm the time to go into the national museum and square. You’re better off reserving the time yourself as they choose a random time for you with the expectation that you will make it. It is free to go into both of these sites, and this is purely a scam.

The museum I couldn't go to! - I had planned to visit the Forbidden City in the morning and the Museum in the afternoon for a day, but a few museum checks told me that my reservation was in the morning, and no, that's not true, isn't it? However, as it was morning, I was told that afternoon was no good, so I went home amazingly. It was a huge shock because the main thing was this museum. There's a language barrier, but isn't that tough?
