Highlights
  • The Great Wall at Badaling - Great Wall is the very symbol of ancient Chinese engineering. The Badaling section is a prime, preserved example of this colossal structure. Since Spring and Autumn Period (770 BC - 476 BC) and Warring States Period (476 BC - 221 BC), Badaling became a very important military strategic place Many incomplete parts of the wall were proved to be built in the Warring States Period. Here you will have the opportunity to climb up either the North or South Face of the Wall.

Great experience - Great tour. Our tour guide Micheal was very attentive and answered all our questions about the sites we were seeing. We got lucky and had him all to ourselves due to other people canceling. Our own private tour.

Great full day tour - Had a great tour! Guide Nina was nice and super helpful. We didn’t feel time pressured so we really enjoyed the great wall and the ming tombs (though partly closed but very peaceful) and had a good lunch. Jade factory and tea ceremony were a nice plus. Thank you for organising this last minute tour:)

The Great Wall is.... Great! - What an absolutely great experience. The Great Wall is just as advertised or better. It goes on forever. It was hot and crowded, and to get to it you have to get through quite a few vendors but everything gets commercialized these days. How can you be in China and not go see this?

Great value, jam-packed day of culture - The tomb was not very interesting but the Great Wall was fantastic. We had a wonderful guide, Mary. Her English was not perfect but she was very charismatic and provided us with many stories and great tourist advice. We advise that you do not go on a Monday. Most of the museums are closed on Monday so people will go to the wall on that day. It is crowded on Monday. In total the tour had five stops. In order, they were: the wall, the Jade store, the restaurant, the tomb, and a a surprise stop that I will not spoil. The Jade store and the surprise shop both include a short presentation and then a sales presentation. You do not have to buy anything, and I did not feel pressured to do so. But I felt that these additional stops were wonderful and welcome. Excellent driver. By the way, big heads up. You will pay an additional fee of $20 per person in order to use the cable car for the wall. It is basically a necessity and probably should be included in the base price. Be ready to pay the fee. We recommend you go to the Great Wall as early as possible. Ask the tour guide to move the tour as early as possible. Many people come to the wall as the day progresses. It is a big difference if you arrive at 8:00 a.m. versus 9:00. A.m.. Ask the tour guide. Many questions to receive best value.

A must do while in Beijing - The Great Wall is an absolute must do if you’re in Beijing. The tour provided was a good way to see the wall and also get a feel for Beijing’s sights. Our tour guide Jenny was very awesome and helpful in giving us good suggestions on what to do after the tour and explained a good amount of history about Beijing while we were on the tour. This tour covers the Ming tombs, Tea Ceremony at a Tea house and the Great Wall. The Great Wall and tea ceremony were truly amazing and I wish we had more time for these but Beijing traffic takes up a lot of the time in between getting to and from the different locations. It takes a whole day so we were quite tired through the end. The Ming Tombs are under construction so parts were closed. I’d suggest while that is happening, the tour maybe consider giving people some more time at the Great Wall and the Tea ceremony instead with a better location for lunch.
