Highlights
  • Mutianyu Great Wall - Mutianyu Great Wall is much steeper than Badaling Great Wall, and a more challenging climb. This section is older than Badaling, and features outer and inner parapets. There are 22 watch-towers in the 2250-meter-long Mutianyu Great Wall, and the highest one is 540 meters above sea level. This section of the wall is also surrounded by woodland and streams. The Great Wall takes on different looks in different seasons. In spring, flowers are blooming. In summer, the Great Wall is lush and green. In winter, the Great Wall is covered with white snow. However, the Great Wall’s most charming season is autumn, when fruits ripen and leaves of gorgeously diverse color fall at this photogenic spot.

First experience at Mu Tian Yu Great Wall - Our tour guide Jenny is a very friendly and cheerful lady that provided all we needed. Her English is perfect and very knowledgeable to the site history and culture. My daughter enjoyed her first trip to the Great Wall and we mother-daughter had a great time during the entire trip, thanks to Jenny.

N/a - Jenny was a great guided tour. She heard my husband couldn’t eat greasy food, so she changed her lunch plan to buffet so my husband could pick the food that he could eat. Thank you so much Jenny. She explained the history and many more.

Mutianyu is an Awesome Option with Tim - Tim was the best tour guide I had in China. He had thorough knowledge of history and cutlure locally. Our driver coughed the entire day and did not wear a mask. Tour would’ve been more enjoyable without that. Going to Mutianyu is definitely better option than Badaling which is super crowded.

Amazing tour with a great guide - Highly recommend this tour - Lily, my guide also from a previous tour recommended Mutianyu over Badaling and it turned out to be a great pick (amazing views, no crowds). She picked me up early and we were able to cover the Great Wall before the crowds got there. Lily went above and beyond also took me to the lama temple after this tour and helped me get tickets to an amazing acrobatics show!

Memorable Experience! - I recently took the Great Wall of China at Mutianyu Full-Day Tour from Beijing, and it was fantastic, thanks to our outstanding tour guide, Jenny. Jenny's warm and friendly nature made the tour enjoyable from start to finish. Her deep knowledge of the Great Wall and Chinese history added great value, bringing the ancient site to life with engaging stories and insights. She handled all logistics smoothly, from transportation with her driver friend. Delicious lunch, and ensured everyone was comfortable and informed. Jenny's guidance at Mutianyu was invaluable, helping us find the best routes and photo spots. If you're planning this tour, I highly recommend requesting Jenny. Her enthusiasm and expertise made our visit truly memorable.

Great Time at the Great Wall - I had a great time on this tour! Lily was an amazing guide who picked us up a bit early in order to beat the crowds and it made the trip that much more enjoyable as there was just a handful of others during our time at the wall. The tea session after the Great Wall was also a nice touch. Highly recommend this tour.

Great walk on your The Wall with Bruce - the friendly guide - Great day out with Han Tang Tours! We walked the Great Wall at Mutianyu on the section between the two chair lifts and back. I liked the way we did it. Up the lower chair lift on the right hand side to tower 5, meaning the first half of the walk was mostly up (with a few short downs). When we reached tower 14 at the top of the left hand chair lift we had choice of continuing onto tower 21 (which looked like it would be about as far along and up as we’d just come), head back down to tower 5 or take the second chair lift back to the tourist village / bus destination. Note: the second chairlift is operated by a different company so may not be included in your tour price unless you specifically booked that. I waved to any persons in space since they say you can see the Great Wall from there 😉😁 As it was just me and my guide, Bruce, I chose to walk back down to tower 5, because I’d spotted the toboggan ride back down (included if you took that chairlift up, and the second chairlift doesn’t have one) because I’m a big - 60 yr old - kid at heart! Take care on the way down as the steps sizes vary considerably and and you certainly don’t want to twist an ankle … Bruce was an excellent companion, pretty good English and gave some nice information, plus very kind and friendly… Back at base we enjoyed a nice tea ceremony which gave you the option to taste (and, if you want, subsequently buy) a good variety of different teas, lunch and then air con drive back to Beijing. An enjoyable day out and I’d thoroughly recommend the tour company and my guide Bruce!!

The One, The Only, The Great Wall of China - They say The Great Wall of China is the only manmade thing visible from The International Space Station. Built before there was a United States of America or Canada this wall was built to last. It is truly a Manmade Marvel. It was recently honoured in a Matt Damon film which showcases the wall at it's peak of glory.

Reliable and organised ... - Reliable and organised I liked the many historical information on the wall too Time may exceed the given 7 hours for the half-day trip as mentioned on the website, we liaised with the tour guide and she managed to bring us back in time (thank you Mary!) but it was a rush for everyone, unfortunately Also, the Jade workshop is very interesting but be prepared every customer is matched with one sales person and they aggressively try and sell everything to you
