• Mutianyu Great Wall - Your designated driver will meet you at 7:30 am in the lobby of your hotel.\nThe journey from the center of Beijing to the Mutianyu Wall parking area takes approximately 90 minutes and covers a distance of 75 kilometers.\n\nThe Mutianyu section of the Great Wall is perched on a mountain ridge at an elevation ranging from 600 to 1,000 meters.\n\nConstructed primarily from granite blocks, the wall stands between 7 and 8 meters tall and spans a width of 4 to 5 meters. Erected in 1404, it was originally intended to thwart southward incursions by the Mongol army. Today, however, it serves a different purpose, drawing more international visitors than it repels.\n\nA chairlift transports visitors from the base of the mountain to the 6th Watch Tower on the Great Wall in just five minutes. From this vantage point atop the ancient fortification, one can enjoy expansive views of the surrounding villages to the south and, on clear days, a distant glimpse of Beijing’s tallest skyscraper, the Chinese Zun. To the north, the Great Wall is flanked by seemingly endless mountain ranges. The watchtowers are spaced approximately 300 to 500 meters apart along the wall. From any given tower, you can survey the entire Mutianyu section.\n\nThe wall’s flat terrain stretches from the 6th to the 9th Watch Tower, offering an easier path suitable for older adults and children. Conversely, the steep segment extends from the 6th Watch Tower to the 1st. For the more adventurous, a two-hour hike to the 19th Watch Tower is an option for those with the stamina.\n\nFollowing a fulfilling hike and photo session, visitors can descend from the 6th watch tower via an exhilarating toboggan ride.\n\nDining options in the vicinity include various Chinese eateries and a Subway restaurant. Alternatively, you may opt to pack your own snacks and fruit for lunch. Complimentary bottled water will be provided by your driver.\n\nYou will return to your original meeting point, and your driver will escort you back to your Beijing hotel around 2 pm.
