The Jiankou Great Wall (Arrow Lock): Situated in Huairou County, this section connects with the Mutianyu Great Wall, located 10 km to the east. Constructed in 1368 during the Ming Dynasty, it is made from large white hill rocks, making it highly visible from afar. This significant part of the Great Wall is built along a mountain ridge with steep cliffs on both sides. Due to a lack of repairs, it is considered one of the more dangerous sections of the Great Wall. It is essential to wear footwear with excellent grip and avoid visiting during rain, especially thunderstorms. In good weather, the Jiankou area provides fantastic hiking opportunities along the Wall.
