- Summer Palace (Yiheyuan) - After enjoying lunch at a local restaurant near the wall, take an approximately hour and a half drive to visit the Imperial Garden - Summer Palace, a summer retreat for imperial family members. It is regarded as the best-preserved imperial garden in China, where visitors can learn about the stories of the dragon lady.
At the end of the tour, guests will be transferred back to their centrally located hotel lobby.
- Ming Tombs (Ming Shishan Ling) - This area is the burial site for 13 Ming dynasty emperors, with the Ding Tomb being in the best condition. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore the tomb, experience the underground tunnel, and view the burial artifacts.

Super fun Great Wall tour - We booked the Great Wall and Summer Palace tour through Catherine Lu tours. Our tour guide, Justin, was great. We fully enjoyed our experience at the Great Wall. We took the chair lift up, explored the majesty of the Great Wall, and rode the toboggan down. So fun!! We enjoyed a delicious American style lunch at the Brickyard Restaurant. After driving back toward Beijing we strolled through the park at the Summer Palace. We enjoyed seeing the natural beauty as well as the beautiful architecture. Highly recommend this tour. Very friendly and very informative.

Magnificent tours accompanied by a great guide who understood very well how we work on the sites.

An unforgettable day on the Great Wall! - Our tour to Mutianyu and the Ming tombs was absolutely incredible! Angela and our driver were beyond amazing — funny, kind, thoughtful, and truly attentive to every little detail. They made the whole experience smooth, comfortable, and full of laughter.
Angela’s energy and enthusiasm made the history of the Great Wall come alive, and the driver was always right there when we needed him, with a smile and perfect timing. Everything was perfectly organized — from the scenic route to the breathtaking views — and we felt completely taken care of the entire time.
It wasn’t just a tour, it was a perfect day with wonderful people who genuinely love what they do. Highly, highly recommended — if you’re lucky enough to get Angela and her driver, your trip will be unforgettable!

Trip of a lifetime - This was a trip of a lifetime. I loved that we started early and missed the crowds at the Great Wall. The tomb was very special and am glad I didn’t miss it. James was a great guide - plenty of information and brilliant at answering questions, but not too much! Very professional driver and super comfortable car. Can highly recommend the trip and Catherine Lu Tours.

Great day at Summer Palace and Mutianyu Great Wall - The private tour was excellent! It was a personalised guided tour to both mutianyu Great Wall and the summer palace. James, the guide, was very professional and even proposed to adjust the itinerary because of the possibility of rain at the great wall in the morning and hence we adjusted the sequence by going to the summer palace first. Driver was also very safe and his driving skills did not cause us any motion sickness. Great day overall. Highly recommended.

Mutianyu wall & Summer palace - The tour was excellent and very well organized. We had a great time with Jenny, our tour guide, who not only showed us all the great spots but also shared fascinating historical facts.
